American Pickers – Filming Secrets Revealed
The long-running series is set to return in the fall. In the meantime, an insider shared filming secrets that expose the show’s fakery.
American Pickers features Mike and Robbie Wolfe, Danielle Colby, and newcomer Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay. The series typically films inside Mike’s Iow and Nashville stores Antique Archaeology.
One source shared the details of the filming process. The cast and crew typically film when the stores are closed. That same source also revealed what happens at the Nashville location.
“They do film in there, but definitely more the Iowa store. Whenever they film, it’s early in the morning and it might be an hour or two before open, often times they open late,” the insider continued.
Danielle Colby spends most of her time at the Iowa store. She meets with Mike and his co-stars as they choose their next picking location. Danielle hasn’t been on the show as much due to her other ventures and health issues.
“She comes less frequently out of everyone, but she still makes her way up there,” the source explained. “She’s a full-time picker now so she’s always on the road.”
Mike comes to the location “the most frequently.” He’s there at least two times per month. He tends to split his time between Iowa and Missouri. He also has his own antiques stores.
Danielle Colby – Steps Back From History Channel Series
In the meantime, Danielle Colby stepped back from American Pickers. She only shows up to the store to film the show.
Danielle works as a full-time picker outside the program. She also moved to Puerto Rico, where she handles many of her ventures, including her burlesque and OnlyFans businesses.
The insider also shared that the stores hide the logos of the Antique Archaeology merchandise. It can’t be shown because of the series. Most of the merchandise gets thrown on the sales floor. The staff has to clean it up and put it back where it first belonged.
