American Pickers Spoilers: What Is Mike Wolfe Dealing With In Home Renovation?

American Pickers spoilers reveal that Mike Wolfe has had some tough times when it comes to his home renovation. His home, which is located in Tennessee, has been a passion project for him for quite some time now.

He has dropped a lot of money into it and has started to share that he isn’t having the best time with this renovation. He keeps having bumps in the road and now it looks as if something else has gotten in the way. Let’s find out more.

The Very Expensive Renovations

Mike has been working very hard at renovating his home, but has found that it isn’t easy or cheap. He purchased this historic Columbia, Tennessee home for $700,000 and he also bought some local businesses.

So far, he has spent over $200,000 on renovations alone. He purchased the home in May 2022 and had to have permits filed to renovate it in April 2024. His main goal is to make it look the way it did when it was first built.

He is repairing the front porch and the tower of the home, as well as the basement, three bathrooms and a cabana.

Mike has shared pictures of this home on Instagram to help his followers keep up with the repairs. So far, they are impressed, but Mike is frustrated with everything involved in the renovations.

The Big Challenges

As soon as he began the renovations, he noticed that a lot of people weren’t happy with him trying to make these changes. He has been open about how he wants Columbia to be a better place and he is trying to help do this for everyone who lives there.

He recently failed an inspection of the tower and had massive electrical problems in the home too. He has been working hard to get these issues taken care of though.

Mike told his fans that he will do whatever it takes to restore the home to its original look. He added, “Places like this to me belong to the community. People come and go, we’re all just caretakers. In the end, the properties endure if we prioritize their significance to each town’s story.”
