Below Deck Med’s Captain Sandy Yawn is having a difficult season. She has a green crew. At the end of Monday’s episode, she warned that someone could “leave out of here on a boat.” But who could it be? Keep on reading to learn more.
Below Deck Med Season 9 – Iain Maclean Struggles With Leadership
For much of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Bosun Iain Maclean has struggled with his leadership skills and expertise. This has caused tension in his work relationship with Captain Sandy Yawn.
Things escalated when Sandy questioned Iain’s skills. She addressed the process of docking a boat and crossing the lines first.
Iain believed his method was better for securing the boat into place. Sandy disagreed with him and argued that swinging the lines to the right would ensure they were correctly positioned in the water.
“I guess, I don’t trust you 100 percent. So, I want to get to that 100 percent trust; you know what I mean,” Captain Sandy Yawn told Iain.
Iain didn’t take it well. In his confessional interview, he assumed he was “doing alright,” but he was “wrong” about his expertise. He shared he will “keep smiling” and allow Sandy to “trust and push me to my limits.”
During the Monday, July 29th episode of Below Deck Med, Iain Maclean’s attitude changed after that tense discussion with his boss. He didn’t enjoy the crew’s night out.
Even deckhand Gael Cameron noticed Iain’s poor attitude. She believes he should accept accountability for his docking errors.
“I feel like with Iain there is a lack of accountability. He’s just constantly pointing the finger rather than putting it on himself and saying maybe I could’ve handled this better,” Gael explained in her confessional.
Iain Maclean could be at risk of getting fired. But he’s not the only crew member struggling on the superyacht. Captain Sandy warned that someone could go home.
Elena Dubaich vs. Bri Muller
At the end of Monday’s episode, Captain Sandy Yawn called stews Elena Dubaich and Bri Muller for a meeting. She learned that the two hadn’t been getting along.
They’ve been fighting over basic laundry tasks and their responsibilities. Both ladies are interested in deckhand Joe Bradley, which exacerbated their feud.
Captain Sandy learned about the feud through Bri, who had a mental breakdown. She cried and told her boss about the way Elena had treated her. Sandy told Bri to regain her confidence and move on from the situation.
Unfortunately, that advice didn’t help. Bri noticed that Elena refused to do the cabins. Captain Sandy stepped in. She warned them at the end of the episode: either the ladies should resolve their conflict or return home.
Who do you think will get fired? Will more than one crew member get fired? Sound off below in the comment section.
