Captain Keith Colburn’s Ship The Wizard Blamed After Crew’s Ordeal at Sea

Captain Keith Colburn Ship Blamed For Mishaps He And Crew Encounter Out At SeaThis season of ‘Deadliest Catch’ is already off to a fantastic and dramatic start. Four episodes in and there’s already a fire in Captain Keith Colburn’s ship.

While it’s a significant challenge, fans still don’t agree that the captain’s reaction to the situation was justified.

Captain Keith Colburn – And Crew Deal With A High Stakes Situation In Season 20 Of ‘Deadliest Catch’

We’ve seen captains and crews pushed to their very limits in previous seasons of Deadliest Catch,’ so perhaps this is the reason fans don’t necessarily agree with Captain Keith Colburn losing his temper over some setbacks, even if they are major ones.

In the fourth episode, viewers saw Captain Keith deal with issues developing from the F/V Wizard. Since this season opened, he has dealt with multiple challenges, the latest being that the ship caught fire.

The first fault came in the form of a power outage out at sea that honestly was too taxing on Captain Keith.

In the darkness, one of the crew members is heard saying, “We gotta pot we gotta get rid of.” The captain then shouts back, “Push it over, get everybody away from it.”

As if this test wasn’t enough, electrical fire breaks out, as we hear a crew member inform everyone that “the breaker burned up.”

A fan reacted to the incident on social media, writing, “That is totally crazy. And second fire the wizard has been dealing with,” they wrote. “Have to wait until Tuesday to see if it does more than Spark. @crabwizard I bet you got a few more gray hairs from this season.”

However, other fans were quickly pointing out how the Wizard was not originally built for crabbing, which complicates things. “The problem with the wizard is, it wasn’t designed to be a crab boat,” one person wrote on Reddit. “It sits really low in the water and instead of riding the waves like the northwestern does, it punches through them.”

Another viewer agreed, adding, “It was apparently originally a Naval yard oiler. Then a molasses hauler before being converted to a crabber.”

But that’s not the only complaints that fans have of Captain Keith this season. According to some, his “faux outrage” has gotten tiring and he should learn how to keep his explosive temper in check.
