Chrisley Knows – Best Alum Undergoes Intensive Therapy
Savannah Chrisley spoke about her trauma. She had to enter an “intensive therapy program” to heal from the decades of trauma she has from her upbringing. The former reality star claims that therapy has been a “game changer” for her menta health.
“I think for me, the whole reason I was going was to help me deal with trauma,” she said. “Like, in my life from childhood to now, there are so many different types of trauma.”
Savannah Chrisley started writing in her diary around her birthday two years ago. She reflected back on an entry that marked the start of her therapy sessions. One of the biggest lessons she learned was how trauma lives in the body.
“You’d see it with me, that’s something happened and it’s triggered something and I break down or fall apart or have a freakout, whatever it may be, because you don’t realize that your body reacts before your mind reacts,” she noted.
The former Sassy by Savannah Cosmetics founder shared that she struggled with trauma for “almost 20 years of my life.” Therapy has been revolutionary for her life. However, Savannah didn’t share what kind of trauma affected her. She only claimed that she relied on it “as an excuse for my poor behavior.”
