Chrisley Knows Best – Star Nanny Faye Dishes On Son Todd Chrisley

Learning that her son Todd Chrisley received a 12-year prison sentence left his mother Nanny Faye feeling heartbroken. And she talked with her granddaughter Lindsie Chrisley on the podcast The Southern Tea. For the first time, the 79-year-old Chrisley Knows Best star shared her heartbreak over Todd and his wife Julie receiving a combined prison sentence of 19 years for financial crimes, noted People.

“My heart is broke,” admitted Nanny Faye about her son and daughter-in-law’s prison future. “I don’t know that I have been this broken in many days,” she added. “But I have to ask God to give me strength and courage to get through it. Because not everybody is treated [with] justice, not everything is fair. But you know what we have to get up, I tell you children, we have to get up and be like the tree planted by the water. We shall not be moved.”

And the Chrisley Knows Best star believes that this is a time for Todd’s family to “let people see that we’re really the people that we are. Get up, do the right thing. Be kind and let God take over.” Agreeing with her grandmother, Lindsie shared her own lesson. And the 33-year-old revealed, “What I’ve learned through that experience alone is that you have to be very careful and very mindful of not falling into what the media paints you out to be.”

Todd Chrisley’s – Mom Nanny Faye Feels She Needs To Stay ‘Strong’

But Nanny Faye encouraged Lindsie to show her strength. And the Chrisley Knows Best star explained that she won’t let the public see her pain. “See, I would never give them that joy,” said Nanny Faye. “Because I am hurting deep in my heart. But I’m not gonna let no one see that because you know, I have to be strong.”

As a mother and grandmother, Nanny Faye takes pride in her own past. And she knows “that I have never done anything bad in my life. Never. But I have to let people see what Christ has done to me, what made him move on with life and so that’s what I’m gonna do. But I am broken.”

Nanny Faye’s comments come after her son, 54, and daughter-in-law, 50, received their prison sentences for financial crimes. Todd started his 12-year sentence at Florida’s Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in January. And Julie began her own seven-year sentence at Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky on the same day. The Chrisley Knows Best patriarch and matriarch continue to appeal their case.
