Duggar Family News – Conservative Values?
Fans of the TLC show “19 Kids and Counting” and “Counting On” know the Duggar family to have by-and-large conservative values, strict family rules, and a lot of children. However, fans also know Amy Dugger King to be the Duggar family rebel.
Early on in the reality TV family’s journey, Amy was featured frequently. Sometimes, in “19 Kids and Counting” she would travel with her cousins and would often impede the family’s strict conservative rules. At other times, such as in “Counting On”, she would blend more into the background.
Amy Duggar King’s – Slow Disconnect From Family
In 2015 the former TLC personality got married and continued to appear on her cousin’s reality TV show. However, she eventually stopped joining her cousins on the show and ultimately became estranged from her uncle Jim Bob Duggar and his family.
Though the entire Duggar family was axed from reality TV following Josh Duggar’s conviction for downloading and possessing child pornography, evidently, Amy saw the writing on the wall and left before that happened.
Duggar Family News – Who’s Really The Crazy Duggar Cousin?
At the time, not much was said about Amy leaving. She had been more of a background character on the show. However, she had been close to her cousins. In fact, Amy was part of Josh and Anna’s wedding, pulling the wagon that carried the flow girl. And when Amy and Dillon King got hitched, a few of her cousins joined in (via Entertainment Tonight).
Not long after, Amy stopped appearing around the family. And though Amy didn’t say much about leaving the show, initially, she’s made comments about not wanting to be known as “the crazy Duggar cousin.”
Duggar Family News – Amy Duggar Kind Didn’t Want Anything To Do With It
These days, though, it seems it is the rest of the Duggar family that is a bit “crazy,” with what happened with Josh and how Jim Bob, and Michelle tried to brush the problems under the rug. Amy explained in an interview that she left Counting On after discovering that her cousins weren’t “protected.” She explained that she didn’t feel like anyone was fighting for them. “And I feel like a lot of it was swept under the rug.”
Amy further detailed “So when I found that out, I wanted to definitely distance myself, just cause I didn’t want anything to do with it.” Be sure and stay up to speed on all the Duggar-related drama. Return here often for more Duggar Family news and updates.
