Recall how Jill Duggar’s Husband Derick Dillard accused his father-in-law Jim Bob Duggar of pocketing the money his children made from their reality show “Counting On”? Well, it’s looking like Derick was right after all, as Jill and Derick have revealed that they practically rely on food banks to be able to eat.
The Sun previously reported that Derick disclosed how he and his wife Jill who is also pregnant with their third son, relied on food banks. He said: “Our neighbors bring boxes of food sometimes. And I also got food through the pantry on campus.”
Jill and Derick are expecting their third son to join Israel, 7, and Sam, 4. She and her husband have put their Arkansas home on the market, as they are moving for Derick’s law job after he passed the Bar exam.
Jill Duggar — Jill And Derick Duggar Weren’t Paid For The Show They Partook In
Jill and Derick appeared on the 19 Kids and Counting spinoff from 2015 up until they left the show in 2017.
He asserted, “I asked TLC if we could get paid when I found out some things and they said there was an agreement that we be paid.” He further said that he had never been paid for 19 Kids and Counting and talked to Jim Bob about it.
Jill and Derick have been open about receiving no compensation for their time on Counting On, PEOPLE initially reported that Jill’s dad Jim Bob was in charge of the money made from Counting On, as they received $25,000 to $45,000 per episode.
The couple didn’t receive money from the series until they quit in 2017. Jill said: “That’s when we got an attorney involved and finally recovered some of the money. It was a process.”
Derick said in a YouTube video: “It probably ended up being a little more than minimum wage. But we were able to recover at least something.”
The show was canceled in 2021 after Jill’s oldest brother Josh was arrested for child pornography.

In the November 2021 filing, Jill Duggar was cited saying that her relationship with her father Jim Bob Duggar “got pretty toxic” after she and her husband, Derick Dillard, began making family decisions that were not in alignment with her dad’s opinions.
“I saw a whole new side to my dad once my husband and I started making decision that were best for our family, but not in his best interest,” Jill told the psychologist, according to the filing. “Sadly, I realized he had become pretty controlling, fearful, and reactionary.”

Jill claimed that Jim Bob was “verbally abusive” at times, Jill described her relationship with Jim Bob as “not good.” She explained that there was no improvement whatsoever in the situation, as being in Jim Bob’s presence these days “isn’t good for my mental health,” though she noted that she still hopes the relationship can be “restored” someday. “There are just too many triggers and stuff for me to have to process after being around him,” Jill said.
The legal filing also stated that Jill’s claims were supported by her husband Derick, who had said in a deposition that Jim Bob did not approve of his daughter having a nose ring, drinking alcohol, or wearing pants.
