‘Curse Of Oak Island’ Gary Drayton Sends A Message To Fans

AMP in the post

Curse of Oak Island star Gary Drayton is a fan-favorite, but his message about Season 12 to fans this week didn’t get all that many enthusiastic reactions. Poor Gary, he seems like such a sweet person and he is besotted with metal detecting and treasure hunting.

Curse Of Oak Island Season 12 Spoilers

Spoilers about the new season of the History Channel show dribbled in since the disappointing end of Season 11. Remember, Rick and Marty Lagina were desperate to make one last attempt to find treasure before the winter set in. Unfortunately, flooding happened yet again. And with that, went the last hope for a significant treasure haul. At least, for a few months.

Gary Drayton, a bit like  Dr. Ian Spooner, didn’t drop specific spoilers in his message to Curse of Oak Island fans. But he made some promising claims. The trouble is, that History Channel fans are growing jaded with all the theories and talk about treasure, without many finds to support it.

Gary Drayton Sends A Message

Season 12 of the show premieres on the History Channel on November 12. Ahead of that, the Curse of Oak Island account on Instagram shared a reel featuring the metal-detecting expert. In his British accent, he proceeded to tell fans that he and his “magic wand” would “do” viewers “proud.”

Fans Reacted To Gary’s Message

It’s not easy to troll a person like Gary because he’s such a sweet person. But, some people let him know that they don’t hold out much hope for any earth-shattering treasure finds in Season 12.  Here are some of those reactions:

  • You guys said that last year also.
  • Gary is out planting ox shoes and wood.
  • These guys are just actors at this point. The script doesn’t change.

Fortunately, not everyone is a skeptic and some nice messages came from those who love Gary Drayton and the show:

  • You’re the best Mr G! A real Bobby Dazzler ❤️
  • Tee hees the countdown is on !!! Can’t wait to see this seasons top pocket finds! I hope some are too big for the top pocket.
  • @gary.drayton is easily the most loveable, excited and passionate guy on tv. His enthusiasm and absolute love for his craft is unparalleled.

Am a little hopeful, a bit skeptical and wonder how long they are dragging this on. Yes we’ve heard it all before, and it’s starting to loose some luster.

I found a pillow in the shape of an acorn. That’s an omen! GO!

  • Richard Timothy Duhl

People I’ve met as well as myself don’t like the program where Rick & Marty are being interviewed about past events. We are staunch followers and just want to move forward.

  • Mary

I love Gary and the whole team. I believe they will eventually find the treasure and put the whole story together to make sense of it all for us. My late husband and I have followed them since day one.

  • Carroĺl

It’s a scam to keep watching no one spends thar much money and not find nothing if u found it show it

  • Dave

I am a fan of the show, and have been since day one. I catch a lot of grief from my family and friends because of the lack of major finds. But it’s Gary and Rick and Marty that keeps me tuned in.
I’m planning a trip to the region and hope for a tour and maybe a meet and greet. My suggestion is bigger equipment and dig baby dig. Best of luck this year and be safe.

I love your show and can’t wait to discover what you find
Gary you’re the best detective with your metal detector! Rick and Morty don’t give up.
    Everyone keep going!

    Happy Thanksgiving all!

I’m not concerned about finding “ The treasure”. The Historical archaeological part is what is important and fascinating for me! I want to know the story of that island!.

    • Ken Lieck

Exactly. The brothers seem like good, honest folks, and they’ve always said that treasure would be nice but all they’ve promised is to attempt to learn something about the past. They’re basically doing real archaeology — real archaeology proceeds at its own pace and doesn’t do anybody any favors.

I’ve watched you all from the beginning and will watch you til it ends, which it hasn”t, yet. Keep on digging Mr. Gary. I ❤️ you guys!!

  • Lonnie

Haven’t missed a show yet. Though I honestly don’t believe there is a viable “treasure” any longer, per se, but the history of the island itself is beyond interesting and could be history book changing, i will keep watching for that aspect alone, treasurr will just be icing on the cake at this point.
