Dancing With The Stars Fans React To Robert Irwin On The Show

Dancing With the Stars will feature the son of Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter), Robert Irwin, and reactions started pouring in. The young conservationist and photographer was the first contestant announced for Season 34. Read on to see if he was a popular choice.

The Announcement About Bindi’s Brother

Bindi and her younger brother, Robert, are Australian, but their various shows, including Crikey! It’s the Irwins which kept them in the international public eye. So, it’s not like nobody ever heard of the man who turns 21 years old today. 

The announcement that Robert would be on DWTS arrived via the official Instagram page for the show just a few hours ago. However, some outlets reported on it after Disney Entertainment Television’s Get Real Event two days ago. The caption of the post read:

From @robertirwinphotography’s dream 10 years ago to a reality now! Who’s ready for that Irwin energy on the new season of #DWTS?!

Are Fans Ready For Robert?

Judging by the comments section, it seems that ABC/Disney made the right call with the young man. Of course, there are always some jaded individuals, and they predict a win because Steve Irwin’s daughter, Bindi won the Mirror Ball trophy a decade ago. She’d competed with pro-dancer Derek Hough.

One fan said, “So beyond excited! I think Danielle would be a fantastic partner for him, but either way, I think he’ll do amazing, just like his sister. Absolutely love the Irwin family.”

Bindi Reacts

In the reel, Robert Irwin talked about how he recalled his sister going on the dancing show. He was 11 at the time, and he won’t ever forget her “flying” through her dance routines. He said, “I just thought, ‘I wonder if that could be me one day?” 

“Now it’s become a reality,” he added, “and I am over the moon!”  Robert Irwin seemed genuinely excited and thrilled about the opportunity. His sister, Bindi, seemed happy for him as well, writing in the comments section, “Can’t wait to cheer you on.”

Hopefully, this year, when the show announces its usual unwelcome surprise like Anna Delvey, the convicted con artist, it doesn’t spoil things for Robert Irwin’s fans.
