‘DWTS’ – Artem Chigvintsev DV Charges Dropped, Why?

Dancing With the Stars fans were shocked to hear that Artem Chigvintsev faced charges of domestic violence in August. He was arrested and then released on bail. However, the felony charge has now been dropped. Read on to find out why.

Although it was not Nikki Garcia who called 911, her husband ended up arrested. Nobody knows what happened in their Napa home, because Nikki Garcia has been very quiet about the incident. They had been celebrating their wedding anniversary and their son, Matteo was with them. So, many Dancing With the Stars fans said bad things about Artem on social media. 

Nikki Garcia didn’t hang about when it came to ending her marriage with Artem Chigvintsev. She quickly filed for a divorce, while her husband stayed with a friend. Some DWTS fans wondered what could have happened that was so bad. Well, it reportedly wasn’t so bad and now he won’t be charged.

DWTS Pro-Dancer Artem Chigvintsev Charges Dropped 

According to a report by TMZ, Allison Haley, the Napa County District Attorney is not prepared to prosecute the Dancing With the Stars pro-dancer because the evidence does not support the charges. If you don’t know, any crime has, by definition, several points and each point must be ticked to prove the case. 

A statement noted that a full investigation into the case against Artem Chigvintsev failed to establish the required evidence. His lawyer told TMZ:

Mr. Chigvintsev has maintained his innocence from the beginning. He is grateful that the district attorney accurately assessed what took place, and determined he should not be charged.

The New York Post carried the official statement about the decision to not charge Artem Chigvintsev. Unfortunately for those howling for him to be locked up and the key ditched in the deepest ocean, the evidence doesn’t match the crime. Notably, the investigation couldn’t prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” that the Dancing With the Stars pro had committed a crime.

The statement said, in  part:

…The decision to not file charges against Mr. Chigvintsev was made after a thorough review of the criminal investigation and careful evaluation of the evidence presented to the DA’s Office. While we take every arrest seriously and stand firmly against domestic violence, we have an ethical obligation to only file charges when supported by the evidence.
