Todd And Julie Chrisley Spoilers – Awarded $1M Settlement
Last month, Todd and Julie Chrisley received a $1 million statement against the state of Georgia.
Their settlement was from their case against the former Director of Special Investigations of Georgia’s Department of Revenue, Joshua Waites. According to People Magazine, their lawyer released a statement about this interesting turn in their case.
“We have been saying for months that the criminal case against the Chrisley was highly unusual and had real problems. This settlement was an encouraging sign,” he said.
In 2019, Todd and Julie Chrisley sought legal action against Joshua Waites for unlawful “targeting.” The couple was cleared of tax evasion in the state of Georgia.
The lawsuit claims that he targeted the couple and Todd’s daughter Lindsie Chrisley. Lindsie was estranged from her famous father at the time.
Waites used their broken bond against Todd. The lawsuit alleges that Lindsie didn’t provide him with the information he desperately wanted. He caused financial and emotional damage to the family. The lawsuit was seeking compensation for the problems that led to their downfall.
Todd And Julie Chrisley Spoilers – Federal Government Wants $1 Million Settlement
The money won’t last for long. According to Radar Online, the $1 million settlement could end up in the hands of the Federal Government. It will be used to pay off their “debts.” The Feds plan to use it for the court-ordered “restitution” in the Atlanta, Georgia case.
“They knew the $1 million was released but didn’t do anything about it until now… They should have taken action to block the distribution and argued for the funds as soon as the settlement happened, [and] they took no judicial action before the $1 million was released,” an insider told the outlet.
Todd and Julie Chrisley sold their Tennessee home. Chrisley Knows Best fans wonder if it’ll be used to pay their expensive restitution fees. However, their legal team feels that a payment would look like an admission of guilt. The couple plans to appeal their conviction in April.
