But now Gwen has blamed The Voice producers for what viewers saw as mean and conceited behavior. Get all the details below.

The Voice Spoilers – Gwen Stefani Becomes ‘Mean Girl’

NBC has always scored high ratings with The Voice. And season 24 followed that tradition. But for coach Gwen Stefani, the just-ended season caused some struggles, per Showbiz.

For instance, Gwen behaved in what viewers saw as “mean and conceited” ways. But beyond that, Stefani kept name-dropping her hubby Blake Shelton.

The combination of Gwen treating newcomer Reba McEntire in a cruel way and Stefani seeming conceited sparked a backlash.

But now Gwen has put the blame on The Voice producers. And she insisted that the production team ordered her to behave like a character in Mean Girls. But will fans of The Voice really believe that production ordered Stefani to act “mean and conceited”?

The Voice Spoilers – Gwen Stefani Name-Drops

But viewers also disliked the way Gwen constantly name-drops her hubby Blake Shelton. For instance, Stefani sometimes tries to recruit a country music singer to her team on The Voice. And to persuade them, Gwen bribes the singer by mentioning her marriage to Blake.

Because although Shelton quit The Voice, his popularity remains the gold standard for coaches. And Stefani explained that she tried to replicate that popularity by creating her own persona. But she defended that attempt.

And Gwen shared, “I think we all come here going, ‘What? We’re supposed to be mean? We’re supposed to be, how do you say it, conceited about our careers? It’s just a weird twist on what you’re normally like.”

The Voice Spoilers – Will Gwen Stefani Return?

However, Stefani observed that The Voice newcomer Reba McEntire needed time to adjust. And she threw shade, claiming that Reba still tries “to find her feet” with what it takes to become a coach.

But rumors soared that Gwen dislikes sharing The Voice spotlight with Reba. And McEntire even called the other coaches “real mean. Especially Gwen.”

However, the country music star noted that her fellow coaches act differently amid filming than they do backstage. And Reba observed, “Everybody’s just as sweet and kind offstage as they can be. When they come on the stage, though, they kind of change their personality.”

And fans will get the chance to see Reba return in season 25 of The Voice. Meanwhile, Gwen will step away. And instead, McEntire will vie for The Voice spotlight with Chance the Rapper, John Legend, and newcomer duo Dan + Shay. However, behavior expert Judy James predicted that Gwen will return. And when she does, James warned that Stefani “will come back a lot harder.”
