Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval recently chatted with Howie Mandel on a podcast. And Tom spilled his side of his affair with Raquel Leviss while dating Ariana Madix. But the backlash began immediately for Howie.
Find out what caused Andy Cohen to get angry. And learn what the Vanderpump Rules interview revealed about Sandoval. Get all the details below.
Howie Mandel – Bickers With Andy Cohen Over Vanderpump Rules
Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval has become a bone of contention between podcast host Howie Mandel and Bravo TV producer Andy Cohen. Their feud began when Howie interviewed Sandoval about his cheating scandal. And Cohen slammed Mandel in response for not watching Vanderpump Rules before the interview. But Howie clapped back via Page Six.
And Mandel claimed that he didn’t need to do homework for his podcast interview. “I know who [Sandoval] is. I know what show he’s on,” added the podcast host. And he added, “It’s very funny to me now watching everybody else. Like, I didn’t even know some of the names of the people that are in the show,” admitted Mandel. “And I’m getting hit hard for not knowing those names.”
However, Howie doubled up on his belief that he can interview a reality TV star without ever watching their show. And he explained that though he does not watch Vanderpump Rules, he “wanted to give [Sandoval] a place where he can kinda spew his side. He cheated on his girlfriend with her best friend. I still don’t understand why it’s big, international news,” added Mandel about the scandal.
Tom Sandoval – Deserves Credit For Vulnerability, Claims Howie Mandel
And Howie made sure to note that he does not “condone” Sandoval’s lengthy affair with Raquel Leviss while still supposedly in a solid relationship with Ariana Madix. But then Mandel claimed he wanted to praise Sandoval “for being vulnerable and removing the stigma for mental health.” And Howie stepped back from challenging Tom about the secret affair.
Mandel described Sandoval as a noticeably “shaken and damaged” human. As a result, he refused to “judge” the secret dalliance or “argue” with Tom. And Howie shared, “I’m not gonna call you out. It’s not a deposition; it’s a podcast.”
However, Mandel made time to express sympathy for both Ariana and Raquel. And he noted, “I probably feel just as bad for the girl he cheated on, the girl he cheated with and everybody who feels like I let them down by not asking the right question.” But Howie still clearly feels angry that Cohen critiqued his podcast.
And in addition to Andy slamming Mandel, some Vanderpump Rules stars did. For instance, he referred to one who complained that “the lighting was bad on my podcast. She’s in the dark! That was her criticism!” But Howie clearly felt shocked at the backlash, admitting he “never felt this kind of vitriol” or “negativity.” And Mandel described his Twitter responses as a “mess of hate.”
