I Am Jazz spoilers, news, and updates tease that Jazz Jennings opened up her thoughts about disallowing her children’s book to be published across the country.

Jazz Jennings debuted on the TLC network when the show followed her life as one of the youngest transgender people. Since then, she never ceased to speak up her mind about LGBTQ rights. Now that she’s an adult, she was calling out the legislators due to the banning of her children’s book.

Earlier this year, the “I Am Jazz” co-author, Jessica Herthel, raised her voice to spread awareness about the real purpose of the book, which is to teach the kids about the importance of acceptance. “The reason that I wrote the book was not necessarily for kids like Jazz, but for kids like mine,” she told Yahoo Life.

“I wanted my kids who were just, you know, three privileged straight kids, to be able to be compassionate and understand people that were different so that they would grow up to be kind of human beings I wanted them to be,” Herthel continued.

As anti-LGBTQ bills continue to ban some books that talked about transgender issues, the TLC star posted a video of herself talking about the purpose of her book. She opened her statement with: “My name is Jazz, and I was assigned male at birth. At age 2, I expressed I knew I was a girl. At age 5, I began my social transition.”

“Today, despite living my life as a proud trans woman, my children’s book ‘I Am Jazz’ is banned all over the country,” she continued. Jazz mentioned that the legislators refused to publish her books due to the fear of brainwashing the next generation into being LGBTQ+. However, the real purpose of the book is to help the young trans people to learn about their personalities as well as to help other people on how to support them.
