Jax Taylor from Bravo’s The Valley and Vanderpump Rules confessed that he struggles with cocaine addiction. While many people feel glad he took the first step in admitting it, others wonder if he’s in damage control.

The Cocaine Confession Is No Surprise

After watching Jax Tayor for eight seasons on Vanderpump Rules, nobody expressed any surprise about his cocaine addiction. When Bravo shared a short clip of him speaking with Alex Baskin on the Hot Mic podcast this week, a viewer wryly noted, “Whatttttt, I am shocked, SAID NO ONE.”

Less skeptical people might assume that Tax Taylor’s stint in a mental health facility might have revealed his problem with cocaine. However, others claimed they always knew about it. “Known this for years. He gets the coke rage that addicts get! Glad he finally is getting help,” one Bravo fan wrote on YouTube.

Remorse Or Damage Control?

Another Vanderpump Rules fan recalled in the comments, “There’s a scene of him snorting lines before his wedding. We all knew Jax.”

The Valley, Season 2 is thought to be brutal for Jax Taylor, so @lillianthomas speculated:

The Valley trailer that is coming our way is about to DESTROY him… I wish him well for sure, I just can’t imagine this is anything but damage control.

That is a possibility, because Season 1 didn’t show Brittany Cartwright’s ex in a good light. It was Brittany who claimed that Season 2, said to cover much of their divorce, would be “The craziest reality TV ever.”

What Did The Dad Of Cruz Say In The Podcast?

Jax Taylor said all the right things about recognizing his addiction and wanting to stay strong and quit, which is admirable. “I am an addict…I have substance issues, primarily with cocaine,” he said. And, he confessed to Alex Baskin, that was was not easy to say it “out loud.”

The second season of The Valley drops in the first quarter of 2025, so naturally, Bravo fans wonder about the timing of his announcement. Brittany Cartwright’s ex said, “I’ve been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I’m 45.” Then, he added, “There [were] times where I would stop doing it, but then, there were times where I’d go heavy on it.”

While that’s believable, as he blew hot and cold with the mother of his son, Cruz, will he blame his shortcomings on his addiction? In the teaser trailer for The Valley on Instagram a month ago, Brittany Cartwright said that she and Jax “were still co-parenting,” but then she added, “All hell broke loose.”

What are your thoughts? Is Jax Taylor speaking out now because the new season of the show is coming soon? Or, is he genuinely remorseful about his addiction? Let us know in the comments below, and come back here often for all your The Valley cast news, updates, and spoilers
