Real Housewives – Star Jen Shah Scores Low-Security Prison Camp
Viewers of RHOSLC know that when it comes to pity parties, no one throws them like Jen Shah. But the future prison inmate also demonstrated that she knows when to switch from insisting on her innocence to pleading guilty. And thanks to a combination of factors, Jen won’t even need to sleep in a cell, sources told the NY Post.
For the next 6.5 years, Jen will live at a so-called “Club Fed-style low-security Texas prison camp,” according to the insiders. Those years behind bars reflect the federal judge’s ruling that Shah played a role in a telemarketing scam. And her scheme targeted elderly individuals who lost millions to the Real Housewives star’s company.
But Jen, 49, will stay in a college dorm style prison. And the facility will represent the lowest level of security in the federal system. “Instead of cells, these camps generally offer dormitory-style housing for all inmates, it will be bunk beds,” explained criminal defense attorney Doug Murphy.
Jen Shah’s – Attorney Makes Special And Surprising Prison Request
Murphy predicted that the Real Housewives star will stay at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas. And the wife of Sharrieff, 51, must surrender by mid-February. However, after her sentence, Jen did take time to apologize in public to her husband as well as her two children, Sharrieff Jr., 28, and Omar, 19.
But Shah’s attorney made an unexpected request. And the lawyers asked that Jen receive an assignment to a prison with a residential drug-approved program (RDAP). Shah did share that she had used antidepressants previously. But it does not seem clear if the request for a drug rehab program at her future prison home relates to her use of antidepressants.
And if Murphy’s prediction comes true, Jen will probably share a bunk with another inmate. However, she will get access to items ranging from gourmet snacks to toiletries. And Murphy described her future as “groundhog day pretty much every day. The only change for her is that the drug abuse program will have them in classes daily.”
Jen Shah – Faces ‘Non-Glamorous’ Future
However, the drug rehab program does require 9 months to a year to finish. And regardless of how easy life might seem to an outsider in a camp-style prison, it definitely will bear no resemblance to Jen’s mansion filled with designer clothes and her life filled with fabulous parties for herself and her pals.
“Sounds like this will be about as non-glamorous an event as she’s ever experienced before,” Murphy quipped. And beyond lack of glam, Jen promised to forfeit $6.5 million. However, the Real Housewives star also must pay $9.5 million in restitution money. And she promised as she exited court, “I intend to repay every red cent.”
