Julie Chrisley still believes that the title of her reality show, Chrisley Knows Best, reflects her life. As a result, she refuses to accept the recent prison sentence handed down to Julie and her hubby Todd Chrisley. And instead, Julie insists that her legal woes result from her fame.
Find out what the Chrisley Knows Best star shared about her views on her prison sentence. And learn what insiders revealed. Get all the details below.
Julie Chrisley – Assumed She Wouldn’t Need To Go To Prison
Life behind bars awaits Todd and Julie Chrisley. And after learning about their fate, the Chrisley Knows Best stars have spent time considering their future. However, an insider told Us magazine that Julie seems unwilling to take any responsibility for her crimes!
But the source also described Julie as feeling “devastated” and “distraught” about her future. And the 49-year-old thought that she would never have to spend any time behind bars. “She didn’t think she’d have to serve time and that she would be able to serve time from home,” revealed the source.
But Julie made an attempt to use her granddaughter Chloe as a reason to serve her sentence from home. However, the court refused the reality TV star’s demand to stay at home until her granddaughter became an adult. And both Julie and Todd blame their fame for their prison sentences.
Todd Chrisley – Thinks He And Julie Can ‘Get Out Early’
Julie and Todd both claim that they don’t deserve their prison sentence. And the insider shared, “They have said they are being made an example of because they are public figures. But it’s all just excuses for their behavior instead of accepting it.”
However, the Chrisley Knows Best stars still hope they can escape at least part of the verdict. And they plan to talk with consultants even as they prep for prison. But even before those talks, both Todd and Julie believe that they will get released early, according to the source.
The verdict results in seven years of prison for Julie. And Todd, 53, will spend 12 years away from his family. But the two also received 16 months of probation. The prison sentences follow their indictment in 2019 for tax evasion, bank and wire fraud and conspiracy. And a jury found the reality TV stars guilty of every charge.
Network Cancels All Chrisley Family TV Shows
As a result of the prison sentence, the USA network cancelled all three reality TV shows involving the family. And that means the ending of filming for Chrisley Knows Best, Growing Up Chrisley and Love Limo. However, it doesn’t mean that the show will stop airing immediately. Because Chrisley Knows Best taped episodes before the conviction, season 10 will air in 2023.
And the insider spilled on what happened on the set. Julie and Todd reportedly “kept telling producers they were innocent.” And the two even predicted that the trial “would all blow over.” However, producers have stopped communicating with the Chrisley family, according to the source.
Julie and Todd co-parent daughter Savannah, 25 and sons Chase, 26, and Grayson, 16. Todd also is the father of Lindsie, 33, and Kyle, 31, with ex-wife Teresa Terry. Kyle’s struggles resulted in Todd winning custody of his granddaughter Chloe, 10. However, after the sentencing, Savannah shared that she has now received custody of her brother and niece. “I come home Tuesday, and I have custody of a 16-year-old and a 10-year-old,” she shared. “And we spend our first Thanksgiving not as a family.”

I love the show Christy Knows Best, however I do not believe their fame has anything to do with their prison sentence. Quite the contrary, I believe they have everything they do because of the situation that got them here~all of the bank fraud, tax evasion, wire fraud, etc. Unfortunately you cannot commit heinous crimes and expect to do no time or do your time @ home! What kind of punishment is that? Because you are someone of fame should not exclude you. You still committed a crime.
Shame on you both! You knew better.
Walk in there shoes an then comment till then just shut up talk what you know not what you don’t know shame on you
I think they should serve more, any other person who had robbed the irs that much would serve longer, why can’t Kyle raise his child or his sister Lindsay she’s older and has a child of her own even Kyle’s mother I wouldn’t want my young child taken care by a flighty 21 year old who can’t stay in a relationship Grayson ought to go live with chase and Emily they are getting married and they will have a stability home
