Chrisley Knows Best alum, Julie Chrisley was resentenced in September 2024 after the 11th Circuit of Appeals vacated her sentence for fraud. Notably, the outcome wasn’t favorable, but recently, federal prosecutors acknowledged an error in her resentencing.
The Error Doesn’t Apply To The Prison Term
When WSB-TV 2 reported on the development, it became clear that the changes recommended don’t apply to the time the Chrisley Knows Best alum serves behind bars. The seven-year sentence still stands, and her Attorney, Alex Little said that he intended to appeal it.

The issue was the addition of “two years” on Julie Chrisley’s “supervised release.” The legal eagles highlighted the fact that flaws exist in the judicial process, which is one reason why Savannah Chrisley wants a pardon from President Donald Trump. That aside, the prosecutors acted to correct the error.
Prosecution Filing On Thursday
The outlet reported that prosecutors acknowledged on “Thursday” that the judge’s addition of five years of “supervised release for counts 7 and 12,” was a mistake. That’s because it exceeded legal limits, and they’ve requested a fix limited to that issue only.
Savannah Chrisley always believed that the justice system was hard with her mom and dad, Todd, because of their celebrity status. The judge seemed irritated that they didn’t show any remorse for fraud and tax-related charges.
Julie did that during her resentencing and she wrote to the judge about the lessons she learned behind bars. However, the USA Network alums long claimed their innocence.
Reactions On Social Media
When the news about Julie Chrisley reached Reddit, many USA Network fans talked about the changes. Here are some of their reactions:
- Apparently she was found to be slightly less involved before the resentencing. But Instead of getting less time, she got the extra time to probation added. I personally think [the] judge had it out for her after Savanah’s comments. And this was prob the most they were able to add on.
- So they just want it to be the original 3 years supervised release instead of 5 because she legally can’t get more time added. She’s not getting a reduced sentence. No big deal. I wish Savannah would shut up and go away. Todd and Julie DON’T deserve a pardon.
- Who wants to bet that in their probationary period olde Todd who still thinks he’s above the law, does some shady shit and end[s] up back in the slammer?
