Find out what else Savannah revealed. And learn how Chrisley Knows Best fans reacted. Get all the details below.
Julie Chrisley – Guilty Of TMI To Daughter?
Chrisley Knows Best alum Julie Chrisley recently began her seven-year prison sentence. And now her daughter Savannah Chrisley has revealed that her mother feels terror about life in a federal prison. But Savannah also shared that as Julie gets through the days behind bars at FPC Lexington in Kentucky, she seems to struggle more than Julie’s hubby Todd Chrisley, also imprisoned. However, the 25-year-old shocked followers by revealing how much her mom spills to her daughter in a podcast via Page Six.
“But she’s just staying busy,” added Savannah about Julie. “You know, like, she’s trying to do anything and everything, take classes, [be] first at bat. Everything known to man that she can do, she does.” However, the 25-year-old claimed that as Julie serves her seven-year prison sentence, she tries “to shield us from a lot of things. Because that’s my mom.”
But that shielding didn’t seem evident in what Savannah revealed. And the 25-year-old shared that Julie stays to herself. The Chrisley Knows Best matriarch also maintains a daily diary, using letters to chronicle her journey that she then sends to her daughter. And Savannah reveals that Julie keeps revealing her fears as well as how much she misses her hubby Todd.
Julie Chrisley – Sparks Backlash Over Daily Diary
However, fans reacted with mixed emotions to Savannah’s comments. For instance, several critics in the Reddit Chrisley Knows Best community felt that Julie went too far in confiding her fears to her 25-year-old. And others slammed Julie for how she handled her initial indictment. For example, one opined that Julie should have “admitted what she did, got a plea bargain, and testified against Todd.”
But Savannah refrained from criticizing her mom. And instead, she shared that every letter from Julie notes “how much she misses my dad. They don’t get to talk,” added Savannah. “So it’s going on what month are we? April? We’re like three, four, four months in, almost.”
And the Growing Up Chrisley alum reflected on Julie’s situation. “Being together almost 30 years now and not going a day without speaking to now, going on four months is a lot,” said Savannah about her parents. The comments reflect the fact that Julie, 50, and Todd, 54, have resided behind bars since January 17.
Savannah Chrisley – Calls It ‘Tough’ To Read Mom’s Struggles
Julie and Todd received different sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion. Todd has begun serving his 12-year sentence and has joined Julie in appealing. But after reading her mom’s daily diary, Savannah felt heartbroken. And the 25-year-old called it “tough to see the accounts of her day and just things that she’s scared of or nervous about or just all the thoughts that go through her mind. And not having my dad there with her. That’s the biggest thing.”
The Chrisley Knows Best stars received guilty verdicts in June 2022. Those verdicts followed their indictments in August 2019 on charges that they submitted fake documents to banks to secure more than $30 million in loans. But Julie received additional accusations of using false statements to rent a house.
