Real Housewives of Potomac, (RHOP) star Karen Huger is going to prison for her DUI offenses, but the show goes on with her. And, why not? As one Bravo fan noted ahead of the weekend on social media, “…she ain’t teresa.” Remember, the franchise stopped filming when Teresa Giudice served her time for various fraud and bankruptcy crimes.
The Guilty Verdict Gets A Sentence
In December, Karen Huger was found guilty of DUI and People reported that her sentence handed down was “Two years in prison, with one year suspended, for her fourth DUI conviction.” Well, it’s not the first time in the history of Bravo that Real Housewives stars served time.
Right now, Jen Shah currently sits in prison, but as she’s behaving herself, she whittles away at the her original sentence. Actually, she shaved off nearly three years of prison, and notably, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City didn’t stop stop filming for her. And this week, the outlet confirmed, nether will RHOP stop for Huger.
No Transitioning To Soaps?
In early February, 2025, The Real Housewives of Potomac fans thought that Karen Huger might move across to act in soaps. That came when she was spotted in a trailer by CBS for Beyond the Gates. Well, that’s not likely to happen now, unless someone plans a slot for her when she gets out of prison.

Many reality TV fans don’t seem to feel much pity for Huger. After all, DUI is a serious offence that could put others in danger. Or, they could even lose their lives. Hence, the outrage when Shannon Beador crashed into the wall of a suburban home.
Ain’t No Teresa Giudice
When @omfgrealitytv on Instagram shared the news by People, RHOP fans had a chance to discuss that filming goes on without Karen Huger. In the comments section, one follower noted, “As they should.. she ain’t teresa.”
