Katy Perry – Is OUT

Katy Perry has received a lot of backlash since she began appearing on American Idol in 2018.  In fact, you have to give her credit for sticking it out this long on the ABC reality TV show

After all of the bad reviews and drama behind the scenes, a lot of American Idol fans are surprised she lasted this long.  Although, those Idol paychecks probably made it a little more bearable.

Jimmy Kimmel welcomed Katy Perry to his stage on Monday February 12th to promote the new season of Idol.  If you tune in to the singing competition to watch Perry, this will be the last season she will be judging the competition.

Katy shocked the Jimmy Kimmel Live audience and announced, “This fall, in September, I’m going to be doing this huge music festival in Brazil called Rock in Rio… so I think this will probably be my last season for ‘Idol.’  “I mean, I love ‘Idol’ so much,” she continued. “It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I need to feel that pulse of my own beat.”

American Idol Season 22 is set to return this year, ABC confirmed right before Perry announced her exit that she would be back as a judge, along with Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.  Ryan Seacrest will be hosting again (obviously).
