Mama June Dishes On Alana’s Boyfriend Dralin

Mama June: Family Crisis Spoilers reveal that June “Mama June” Shannon recently spoke with In Touch about Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s boyfriend, Dralin Carswell. June also reminds everyone that Alana is no longer that little girl from the pageant world.

Mama June: Family Crisis Spoilers reveal that June doesn’t see the big deal about the age difference between Alana who is 17 and Dralin who is 21. June that there is about the same age difference between Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird and her husband Josh Efird who began dating when they were about 15 and 20 respectively.

June says that no one had an issue with Pumpkin and Josh who got married in 2018 and now have four children Ella, 5, Bentley, 20 months, and twins Sylus and Stella, 11 months. June says, “They have been together almost eight years and I feel like Dralin is not on the maturity level of a 20-year-old because he is very childish. I mean, very childish to me.”

Mama June: Family Crisis Spoilers: Josh Stroud Weighs In

June’s husband, Josh Stroud, adds that Dralin loves Alana. Justin says, “They’re still kids. It ain’t like he’s 28, 29 years old. He’s still a child himself, so he’s not gonna get everything right at the beginning. You know, just like none of us did. We had to figure it out as we go.” Alana confirm her and Dralin’s relationship on Instagram in January 2021.

Dralin has gained the approval of Alana’s family despite June’s opinion that he is childish. Unfortunately, this age difference as well as his past criminal issues are a sticking point for many fans.

In Touch confirmed that Dralin was arrested for statutory rape in May 2019. This was less than two years before he began dating Alana. Dralin was also accused of making a false statement to the police at the time about the incident as well. The charge was later adjudicated in June 2021, after he agreed to see an addiction specialist and undergo drug and alcohol screenings.

Dralin’s most recent arrest was on February 28, 2023, when he was picked up for driving under the influence. Dralin was locked up for two days before being released on a $25,000 bond according to In Touch’s online record search. “Dralin was charged with one count of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, one count of DUI — less safe — drugs, and various unsafe driving charges.” Alana was reportedly in the vehicle with him at this point which caused a social media frenzy of its own.
