Season 11 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life just debuted on September 5. And fans have observed Whitney Way Thore’s weight loss.
As a result, some speculated that the star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life underwent weight loss surgery. But Whitney denied those rumors via Yahoo.
And the 39-year-old reality TV star noted, “I think it’s obvious that I have lost some weight and that is true. People say, like, ‘Is it surgery?’ And I’m like, ‘No, it’s grief. But thanks’.”
Whitney’s reference to grief comes in the wake of her mother Barbara Thore’s death at 76. And the new season included Barbara’s memorial service.
But the reality TV star seemed irate about the weight loss rumors on social media.
My Big Fat Fabulous Life Spoilers – Whitney Way Thore Won’t Focus On Weight
And the star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life complained about the weight loss “chatter online. And people have asked me, ‘Have you had weight loss surgery?’ or something like that. No I haven’t,” said Whitney.
However, she hinted that she will discuss her weight “more on the show. But in my personal life, I don’t really find it necessary to talk about how much I weigh.
It’s just not something that I care to focus on and talk about.”
But Whitney shared that she refuses to judge those who use the diabetes drug Ozempic for weight loss.
And she admitted that life feels more challenging as an obese person. “I’ve been fat now for 20 years and fat in the public eye. I know how hard it is,” she said.

And the reality TV star added, “And I do not ever judge a fat person for doing anything that makes their lives easier. I am not that fat person that’s gonna say, ‘Oh my gosh, why are they on Ozempic? Why are they losing weight? They’re betraying me.’ It’s their body. It has nothing to do with me and it’s hard out here for a blimp.”
However, Whitney previously blamed her own weight gain on her health condition. After gaining more than 200 pounds during her first year of college, the reality TV star received a diagnosis of polycystic ovarian syndrome.
And she shared on social media, “Most of my adult life consisted of dramatic weight gain, a PCOS diagnosis, self-loathing & a non-stop desire to lose weight and be this girl again.”
But the reality TV star then “realized how insane this was. I know, because I’ve lived it, that thinness does not equal happiness,” said Whitney. “And it does not equal physical or mental health.”
