NEW Soap Opera On Netflix: Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts Join Forces With Pretty Little Liars Showrunner

Kim Kardashian and soap operas usually don’t go together. It’s not a typo, the reality star is bringing a new soap opera to Netflix. Now, if the name Kardashian doesn’t excite you, then maybe Emma Roberts and Pretty Little Liars will get you pumped up! Keep reading to learn all the details!

According to Deadline, Kim Kardashian and Emma Roberts (yes, the actress) are teaming up with the showrunner of Pretty Little Liars. The female trio’s project will be titled Calabasas, which is based on Via Bleidner’s book, “If You Lived Here, You’d Be Famous By Now.” 

The soap opera on Netflix will be called “Calabasas.” According to the report, Bleidner’s book is about a midwestern teenage girl when her family moves to Calabasas.

The main character attends Calabasas High School, where she deals with the obstacles and challenges of a teenage girl. The exception is that this will be done in a very soapalicious way!

Kim Kardashian’s – Silence

Now, Kim is always involved in multiple projects. While it doesn’t surprise us that Kim is tackling a new production, it does surprise us that it’s a soap opera.

So far, Kim hasn’t made any mention of the project. Kardashian might be waiting for more concrete details, so she can share more than just the title and a vague description.

By the time these things are usually announced, casting is done, etc, etc. So, fans might need to wait a bit before Kim finally speaks out on it.

Calabasas being developed comes right after the news of another new soap opera coming to TV. As fans might have heard by now, The Gates will be premiering next year on CBS and is centered on a black family living in a gated community.

In recent years, Days of Our Lives moving from NBC to the paid version of Peacock was hard for fans. This is in addition to the cancellation of other soaps.

It had a lot of DOOL, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, and General Hospital fans concerned about the future of soaps. With two new soap operas in development, this is great news! 

Pretty Little Liars Factor

The fact that Emma Roberts and the Pretty Little Liars showrunner are teaming up with Kim Kardashian on this is a great sign.

Pretty Little LIars was an awesome teen-based TV show and it ran successfully for years. So, we have high hopes that Calabasas might be the next soap that has fans talking!
