Vanderpump Rules has been recast for Season 12, and initially, it seemed that only Lisa Vanderpump would return. However, another cast member will return, and they partially blame Tom Sandoval for the reboot. Read on to find out who it is.
Vanderpump Rules Recast – Follow The Money
The official line by Bravo was that too many of the original cast had left the restaurant. Actually, most of them don’t even work at SUR these days. But rumors had been around for a while that it was Ariana Madix who cost too much and the rest of the cast wanted their cut. So, it wasn’t all that profitable to keep recasting the same faces
Some Vanderpump Rules fans suspected that Tom Sandoval cheating with Rachel Leviss and the “Scandoval” fallout had caused the end of the show as we know it. Well, time moved along, and Tom isn’t as hated as he was a year ago. But the last man standing claimed it did have something to do with the shake-up decision.
The Returning Cast Member
The last man standing who returns to the Bravo show is SUR manager, Peter Madrigal. This week, he spoke with Domenick Nati and confirmed his return. During the conversation, the Vanderpump Rules star said that the show was “bigger” than one man, even though Tom Sandoval’s scandal probably helped steer the new direction.
What became obvious is that OGs from Vanderpump Rules had become so distanced from the SUR restaurant and bar, that Peter Madrigal hardly ever saw them. So, he can understand why Bravo decided on a recast. Even Lisa Vanderpump seemed less involved in the lives of the OGs.
Peter Madrigal wasn’t ever a full-time major force on the show. But he seemed nice enough. On Reddit, Bravo fans chatted about him when he first hinted at a recast. Here are some of their reactions:
- My partner and I always joke that we’d wanna be Peter if we were on the show, friends with pretty much everyone, show up at birthdays and trips occasionally, collect paycheck while staying out of the main show drama lol.
- Poetic. Especially because they wanted him to appear on the last season of VPR for free and he said no.
- Wow, good for him honestly. For free is crazy.
- And the show is about SUR and if he is still working for SUR….he should be getting $.
If you worry that the new cast might not be any good, Peter Madrigal did promise Domenick that plenty of drama will come along in Season 12.
