Real Housewives Of New York City (RHONY) fans love the reality TV show for the drama that the ladies inevitably cause. But for the first time, RHONY sparked chaos even before the first episode of a new season began. And the drama resulted from the decision to create both a RHONY starring a totally new cast and a Real Housewives show filled with returning stars, dubbed RHONY Legacy.
However, after seemingly endless rumors about who would star in the Legacy edition, Peacock announced that the streamer would turn it into an Ultimate Girls Trip show. And Peacock also revealed who will star in RHONY Legacy Ultimate Girls Trip edition. Get all the details below.
Real Housewives Spoilers – Ultimate Girls Trip RHONY Legacy Cast
Peacock has unveiled the stars of the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. And the cast list contains some surprises both in who Peacock included and who got excluded. For instance, after rumors that Ramona Singer would not appear, Singer made the list. But Jill Zarin did not. And the full list shows Ramona, Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Kelly Bensimon and Kristen Taekman appearing in what will mark season five of the Ultimate Girls Trip series, reported Page Six.
Because Ultimate Girls Trip always involves travel, Peacock chose Saline Beach in St. Barts for the RHONY Legacy cast. However, their home will parallel the plans for the Real Housewives of New York City Season 5 cast trip. But the exact premiere date for the Legacy episodes remains unknown.
Meanwhile, fans will find plenty to discuss when it comes to the unexpected choices for the RHONY Legacy group. For instance, rumors had previously indicated that fan fave Jill Zarin would appear on the show. However, she did not. And Bethenny Frankel, who slammed the spin-off as “boring,” did not make the cast list either. But surprises include Taekman, who appeared only on seasons 6 and 7 about a decade ago. And Bensimon ended her tenure as a full-time cast member back in season four, while being totally absent from RHONY since season 7.
RHONY Spoilers – What Happened To Jill Zarin?
However, the biggest shocker stems from Jill Zarin’s exclusion from RHONY Legacy. But insiders revealed that the RHONY alum, 59, caused problems during the initial discussions for what Bravo first planned as a full season of Real Housewives Of New York City. As a result, Bravo cancelled its Legacy offers. And that caused Zarin to turn into a viewer rather than a participant for the Ultimate Girls Trip.
But Jill offered her own spin on the situation. And Zarin claimed, “Legacy didn’t happen because it just wasn’t meant to happen. That’s the truth.” And she denied that she caused problems during negotiations. “It has to do with the producers and what they decided to do. I don’t really know.” Because so many problems occurred during contract negotiations, producers shifted to a Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip format for the Legacy cast. It will air after Morgan and de Lesseps appear in the spin-off, “Crappy Lake.”
However, in addition to Jill’s absence, Singer’s presence shocked fans. The 66-year-old had claimed that she would not appear on RHONY again. But insiders shared that she changed her mind. The Legacy format developed after season 13 sparked accusations of racism from Eboni K. Williams. The resulting investigation turned into Bravo changing the show. And the new RHONY, starring Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Dana Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank and Brynn Whitfield, will debut July 16 on Bravo.
