Real Housewives Of New York City (RHONY) stars Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel fought for years on the show. And their feud didn’t stop when Bethenny exited RHONY. But Luann recently didn’t exactly behave in a countess-like way when she saw Frankel.
Find out what de Lesseps did when she encountered the Real Housewives alum at “Bad Cinderella.” And learn what Frankel did. Get all the details below.
Real Housewives Of New York City – Star Luann De Lesseps Acts ‘Uncool’
Real Housewives Of New York City star Luann de Lesseps once famously told her RHONY co-stars to behave in a cool way rather than “uncool.” But Luann failed to take her own advice recently. And an insider spilled on what happened when de Lesseps spied former RHONY co-star Bethenny Frankel at the Broadway opening night of “Bad Cinderella” via Page Six.
Luann discovered after her arrival that her seat was near former Real Housewives of New York co-star Bethenny Frankel. De Lesseps, 57, arrived at the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical with her ex-boyfriend Jacques Azoulay. However, the RHONY star didn’t take her seat until 6:30 p.m., just minutes before the show began.
And the situation left the show’s publicist, Rick Miramontez, with problems. He had initially placed the former RHONY co-stars next to each other. But a member of his staff warned him about the feud between Bethenny and Luann. As a result, he divided their seats. However, the change placed Bethenny and her 12-year-old daughter Bryn Hoppy directly across the aisle from de Lesseps. And that resulted in Luann storming out.
RHONY – Bethenny Frankel Ignores Luann De Lesseps’ Tantrum
Frankel, 52, didn’t get noticed by de Lesseps until the intermission. But when Luann saw Frankel, 52, she appeared noticeably upset, say insiders. And the RHONY star grabbed her former boyfriend’s arm and “storms up the aisle. She looked visibly upset,” shared one source. “And they left in a huff.”
But that left the PR team apologizing. “I am not well versed in the ways of ‘Housewives’ and should have known better than to seat them so close to each other if indeed it was a politically incorrect move,” shared regretful Miramontez. “Next time I’ll do my homework.” However, the former Real Housewives co-stars didn’t exchange any words.
And while de Lesseps stormed out, Frankel played it cool. She and her daughter remained in their seats for the second act of “Bad Cinderella.” And Bethenny turned to social media to praise the show, describing it as “fun and fabulous.” Meanwhile, Miramontez invited de Lesseps to return. “Whenever Ms. de Lesseps wishes to come back, she’ll be our guest,” he stated. “And we thank Bethenny for her words of praise for the show.”
Real Housewives Of New York City – Luann De Lesseps Throws Shade At Bethenny Frankel
Frankel and de Lesseps both starred in the first season of Real Housewives Of New York City and fought season after season. And when Bethenny exited in 2019, Luann cheered. “I think the whole cast is relieved in a way,” she claimed. “It also leaves breathing room for other women to shine and show their personalities.”
And de Lesseps claimed that Bethenny’s presence meant that she kept “stealing the show.” However, beyond accusing Frankel of stealing the spotlight, Luann threw shade at Frankel’s Skinny Girl brand. “God, if I had a dime for every Skinny Girl party I had to promote, and then she can’t even promote my cabaret show and be happy about it,” complained Luann.
