First, some fans question why the RHOBH star stays married to a man seemingly sinking in legal quicksand. And second, Jayne recently shocked viewers by appearing drunk for the first time in her history on RHOBH!

In 2020, Erika Jayne filed for divorce from now-estranged hubby Tom Girardi. As a result, fans felt shocked when Jayne did a reversal, according to the Blast. However, monetary concerns allegedly caused the shift. Tom’s legal problems began when both he and Erika got sued for alleged embezzlement. And the spotlight intensified when news broke that the embezzled money allegedly came from a sum allotted to the Lion Air Flight 610 family victims.

However, the RHOBH star claimed she knew nothing about the alleged embezzlement. And she got dismissed from the legal brouhaha. But on an episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Jayne also clarified details about her marriage. And she explained that she chose to stay with Tom to avoid potential requirements to pay alimony. “It’s ironic,” summed up Erika. “But if I was divorced from Tom, I’d have to pay him alimony. I’ll stay married, thanks.”

For years, the Real Housewives franchise has become famous for exposing marriage troubles. And Erika Jayne did a deep dive into that topic. But in that process, the RHOBH star got surprisingly candid during a conversation with her co-star Lisa Rinna. “I can’t get a divorce right now. Like, I’m legally separated, so my life has moved on,” admitted Jayne. “And everything is separate. But I can’t get a divorce right now. There’s so much legal s—t going on.”

Some viewers have accused Jayne, 50, of seeming emotionless. But she shared her heartbreak over her marriage to Tom. For instance, Erika noted that her 20-years-plus marriage strengths get “lost in the sensationalized version of it all. This was someone I was married to for over 20 years and was with, like, 23 [years].” And she admitted that makes the trolling “difficult.” 

Mourning her lost relationship, Jayne confessed “real moments of sadness, real moments of — like when the holidays came around, you know, for Christmas, I would just remember how much fun we would have. But what are you going to do with that? These things happen in life. They happen to everyone; everyone’s mourning something.”

However, Erika also discussed what happened when she combined alcohol with antidepressants. Because some fans have alleged Jayne faked appearing excessively intoxicated, questions arose about her drunk scenes on RHOBH. But the reality TV star got honest about why she used both booze and prescription medication.

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills recently aired footage in which Erika appeared unusually drunk. But Jayne explained those scenes by taking an honest approach. “I wanted to have some fun,” shared the RHOBH star about mixing antidepressants with alcohol. “And I wanted to not feel so heavy. So that’s what I did,” she added. 

And that “heavy” feeling results from seemingly endless drama. Just one month after Jayne filed for divorce from Tom, the estranged spouses faced Edelson PC’s allegations of embezzling millions from an account intended for families of victims of the Lion Air Flight 610. However, Erika denied those allegations, getting herself removed from the fraud lawsuit.

But Jayne’s troubles did not end there. For instance, a judge ordered the RHOBH star to relinquish diamond earrings valued at $750,000. Although a gift from Tom, the earrings got categorized as “stolen property” because the money allegedly came from the embezzled funds. However, an insider stated that Jayne previously gave up the earrings. And the source added, “She honestly just wants all of this behind her and will do whatever is necessary to do so.” As a result, Erika plans to do “the best she can to move forward with her life.”
