Remember the concept of a promise ring? Popular in high school, the jewelry indicated that a guy felt serious about his girlfriend. And now, Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) alum Alexis Bellino has flaunted a promise ring from her new man John Janssen. He recently split up with RHOC star Shannon Beador, noted Heavy.
And on Christmas Day, Alexis showed off her new ring. But she defended her romance with Shannon’s ex in her caption. And Bellino wrote, “Words cannot. Actions do. I will no longer feel guilty. I will not apologize. Love will create it’s own story. I love you Johnny J. ♥️#lovewins #notengaged lol #promised #merrychristmas.”
As a result of the backlash, the RHOC alum turned off comments on her Instagram. But before she did, Alexis faced slams from Real Housewives fans. And the RHOC alum also sparked a backlash over a pic taken on Janssen’s boat.

Janssen also came in for his own share of criticism. For instance, when Real Housewives fans noted the boat, many commented that John took Alexis on the same ride that Shannon enjoyed. And others compared Janssen to Real Housewives Of Orange County alum Slade Smiley, who infamously dated multiple RHOC stars.
“John is the new Slade [Smiley],” mocked one fan. And another shared, “We’re laughing at [Alexis]. She’s got Shannon’s leftovers. Just disgusting! You don’t do that to another woman.”
But multiple fans branded Bellino as “thirsty” for attention. And in response to a pic of Bellino and Janssen together, RHOC original cast member Vicki Gunvalson slammed both. “Ridiculous and thirsty on both of them,” declared Vicki.

But in an interview, Vicki shared, “For me to see that Alexis — someone I actually had some respect for — would go so low as to date Shannon’s ex? It’s gross. It’s low and it’s not being a girl’s girl.”
And the RHOC star agreed with fans who felt that Alexis faked the romance in order to return to the reality TV show. “It also reeks of desperation to return to the show,” opined Vicki. And she added that Bellino “probably is hoping this will stir the pot and secure her spot. It makes one question why John would want to date another Housewife. Is he also fame hungry and wanting to remain on TV? We all know the answer!”
However, Alexis reacted. And she shared, “Very disappointed to see this from someone I considered a friend. I know things can’t be so bad at Coto Insurance that you resort to grab quick cash from a click bait article trashing me. Sad that you seem to forget there are two sides to every story, and unfortunately 100% of your assumptions are totally false [Vicki]. Happy Holidays!”
