Reality star Savannah Chrisley, formerly of Chrisley Knows Best, has given fans an update on the appeal of the prison sentences for her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley. And the news is both good and bad.
Chrisley Family – Receives Bittersweet News
The 26-year-old shared the news on her podcast entitled Unlocked this past week, sharing that while her mother Julie received good news her father did not.
Julie Chrisley will be resentenced which means she would likely return home sooner than the family once thought after being handed down a prison sentence of seven years for bank fraud and tax evasion.
Savannah, who is currently caring for her brother Grayson and niece Chloe, hopes her mother will return home by Thanksgiving so the family will “have time to truly focus on all of dad’s stuff.”
As for Todd Chrisley, Savannah shared that her father’s appeal was rejected with the family now looking into next steps.
“The next process for dad is going through and filing the motion for the 2255, which is ineffective assistance of counsel, and then taking that step by step,” Savannah shared during the July 2nd episode of Unlocked. “So that’s pretty much where we’re at with that.”
Todd Chrisley – Happy About Wife’s Appeal
While Todd Chrisley didn’t receive the best news, Savannah shared that her father cried and was happy after learning the news about his wife.
Savannah was also grateful for her mother’s good news but still appeared to be defeated when it came to the justice system.
“What’s so sad about this whole thing is that you’re literally negotiating with the devil,” she began. “The government, they have a 97, 98% conviction rate.
Why is that? That is because they scare people into entering into a plea agreement. They have unlimited resources. They can fight you till the very end.”
As for any member of the Chrisley family returning to TV, Savanah has shared that the family has something in the works.
