Savannah Chrisley sent a bizarre and risky invitation regarding the holidays to her social media followers on Christmas Eve. But the Chrisley Knows Best alum also poured out her emotions about her imprisoned father Todd Chrisley and mother Julie Chrisley.
Because 2023 marks Savannah’s first Christmas with her parents behind bars, the reality TV star admitted feeling glum. But the Chrisley Knows Best alum channeled her depression into seeking to help others. Get all the details below.
Savannah Chrisley – Loses Christmas Spirit
2023 doesn’t feel like a good year for celebrations for those in the Chrisley Knows Best clan. And turning to Instagram on Christmas Eve, Savannah Chrisley told her fans that she can’t feel the holiday spirit this year. But the Chrisley Knows Best alum also discussed her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley’s imprisonment via People.
And Savannah has struggled since her father Todd, 54, and mother Julie, 50, reported to prison on Jan. 17. But after receiving reduced sentences, Todd will serve a decade. And Julie will spend five years behind bars.
As a result, the couple’s daughter shared her emotions on Christmas Eve. And Savannah reflected to her social media followers, “I just want to jump on here and say that just because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean you have to be all joyous and happy if you’re not feeling it. I feel you.”
Savannah Chrisley – Shares ‘Grieving’ Over Parents
And the Chrisley Knows Best alum refuses to feel forced to act happy about the holidays. But she also sympathized with any fans who feel that their own holidays “suck.” And Savannah added, “It’s okay if you’re not excited about them or grieving during this time.”
As a result of her parents’ imprisonment, the Chrisley Knows Best alum has decided to follow her own advice. “Do what makes you feel okay. What makes you feel best,” she added. “Because I’m with you. I feel you it’s not the happiest time for me.”
And then Savannah issued what seemed like a bizarre and dangerous invitation. She told all her followers who lacked “anywhere to go” to join her for Christmas. And the reality TV star added, “We’re just gonna eat and make fun drinks about a fire. I want my house to be the place that everyone can come that doesn’t have anywhere to go.”
As for whether Savannah actually responded to any followers who wanted to go to her home for Christmas with the address remains unknown. But she did clearly feel sad about celebrating her first winter holidays without her father Todd and mother Julie.
Savannah Chrisley Thanks Jason Aldean For Support
Because of her parents’ prison sentences for bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy charges after their June 2022 conviction, Savannah has become responsible for caring for her brother Grayson, 17, and niece Chloe, 11. But she received support from Brittany and Jason Aldean.
And Brittany generously invited the Chrisleys to spend Thanksgiving with them in Turks and Caicos. “She and her husband graciously opened up their home to us,” gushed Savannah. “And it just reminded me what awesome people I have in my life.”
But the reality TV star admitted, “It makes me emotional just talking about it. Because it has been tough not having Mom and Dad home,” she added. “And to see the people around me that have loved us and cared about us, it made me realize that family isn’t just blood.”
