Was Shahs Of Sunset Cancelled Because Of Mike Shouhed?
2022 brings a year of change to reality TV. Bringing Up Bates was unceremoniously dumped even though UPTV filmed most of the next season. In that instance, production blamed it on the network taking a new direction. Well, it came very suddenly, and fans don’t know the real reason. However, they suspect it might relate to a game of charades when one of the Bates boys joked about George Floyd.
Recent news brings way too much domestic violence, and the unfortunate incident when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock brings that sort of thing to the fore right now. Shahs Of Sunset star Mike Shouhed joins the likes of 90 Day Fiance alum Geoffrey Paschel and actor Matthew Rondeau in the popularity stakes. If you hadn’t heard, Mike was arrested for allegedly assaulting someone and leaving marks on them. Is that why Bravo binned the show that featured him?
Shahs Of Sunset – Binned But Some Cast Members Will Return
It’s unlikely that The Oscars will get binned because Will Smith behaved badly. However, networks have the option of canceling or renewing shows if the cast becomes too controversial. While Bravo execs didn’t say that the cancellation comes because of Mike Shouhed, clearly it might have something to do with it. The news that broke via TMZ this week, noted that other cast members might return on another project. Notably, Mike’s name isn’t mentioned.
The outlet noted that Shahs Of Sunset “simply ran its course after first airing in March 2012 … and a decision has been made to end it.” While it sounds rather lame, fans can look forward to seeing more of Reza Farahan, Mercedes “MJ” Javid, and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi. Apparently, a new show might come along and they will all be in it.
Shahs Of Sunset – What Was The Show About?
If you never watched Shahs Of Sunset, it might interest you to know that it focused on Persian American families living in Beverly Hills. Careers, tradition, family, and culture seemed quite educational, if not a huge drawcard. The show never ranked up there with The Real Housewives franchise by Bravo. However, fans on Twitter say that they will miss it on their screens.
