Kody Brown often outdoes Ben Affleck when it comes to looking grumpy. However, while Ben won over Jennifer Lopez, Kody destroyed his relationships with three of his four wives.
And the exits of Janelle, Meri, and Christine transformed the Sister Wives patriarch’s plural marriage into a monogamous one.
But despite going through three spiritual divorces in recent months, Kody now insists he stays close to an ex-wife as well as Robyn. And the news about that former wife shocked viewers, noted Forbes.

But amid his current legal marriage to his fourth wife Robyn, Kody claims to see a lengthy relationship in his future with his ex-wife Meri. And he explained that his first wife has helped him evolve. “The evolution of everything that happened with Meri and I over the past 20 years has had an effect to where we’ve come to here,” added Kody.
“Her and I separating permanently was basically just what I thought was a very gentle negotiation of where we’re at,” clarified the Sister Wives patriarch. And he explained that his current relationship with Meri involves “what our personalities are like.” But Kody also noted that the two have settled on a give-and-take, assessing “what we can give to each other and what we can’t.”

And Kody shared that he wants to become “friends again. Meri and I do, I believe, go forward very quickly—I hope—with love and grace, forgiveness and charity.” As a result, the Sister Wives patriarch wants to evolve “to where I want her to feel free to call me if she ever needs anything.”

But Kody also put the emphasis on the future. And he predicted, “We’ll always have a relationship of what I hope is at least some kind of friendship.” If that prediction comes true, it would mean the Sister Wives patriarch could potentially even form a spiritual marriage with Meri again.
Despite ranking as Kody’s first wife, Meri became the final one to leave him. For instance, his third wife, Christine Brown, quit in 2021. And Janelle exited in December of 2022. Meri then left, with Robyn as the final wife.
However, Janelle has questioned Kody’s comments about Robyn. And she challenged how the Sister Wives patriarch claimed to have formed a “sacred covenant” with Robyn. “Our sacred covenant was if I’m ever not in love with you, I won’t just sit there and be in a pathetic place with you,” Kody said.
But Janelle doubts that statement. And she asserted, “I don’t think he’s telling the whole thing. Maybe he is. Maybe their relationship is that superficial because, I’m sorry, you fall in and out of love many times in a relationship.”
