‘Teen Mom’ Alum Bar Smith Backs Off Bail Appeal

Teen Mom alum Bariki Lockettsmith, AKA Bar Smith was arrested in July for allegedly kidnapping Ashley Jones. He appealed his bail but new information made the prosecution believe he could be a threat to society. So, instead of getting a reduction, his lawyer backed off on the appeal as the prosecution wanted to raise it by four times the original amount.  

Teen Mom Stars Bar Smith & Ashley Jones Are Done 

Not many details emerged about the actual crime, but small things slip out. For example, he’d allegedly done something similar in the past. Plus, MTV fans were aware that he already had many run-ins with the police. Ashley Jones moved on without him as he sat behind bars trying to get his bail reduced.

Starcasm reported that Bar Smith was jailed “in Nevada on felony charges of kidnapping, coercion and burglary.” While that sounds rather violent, he and Ashley Jones often feuded on social media and got into ugly fights. There were breakups and reconciliations, but this time, it seems that it’s finally all over for the Teen Mom couple. 

MTV Alum’s Bail Quadrupled From $35K?

The outlet reported that although Ashley’s ex had wanted bail reduced, it all went wrong after Ashley’s mom submitted evidence. So, instead of getting out on $35K, the prosecution had a very good argument to push it to $150K. And, there’s probably no way the Teen Mom alum will be able to raise that kind of cash. 

Starcam explained more about it, citing court documents:

Pastor Tea claimed Bar “shot up my daughter’s home as we were celebrating her medical [assistant graduation] party,” which resulted in Bar being arrested.

Ashley’s mom also claimed she had to go to Ashley’s house and “bring her out because [Bar] had a gun holding her hostage.”

When the news arrived on @teenmomfanz on Instagram, MTV fans were not at all sympathetic. Here are some comments from Teen Mom viewers about Bar Smith:

• Dude deserves every bit of what’s coming to him! He wasn’t raised right, that’s for sure.
• He needs to get some help bc the rate he’s at he’s about to be serving a life sentence like his brother.
• All he had to do was be a decent husband and father and she would be his wife. Why act out AFTER you lose her. Smh. Glad she got away.
• Good! Maybe being behind bars for awhile will make him learn for once.
