While working as a steelworker at a construction site, a heavy air compressor caused the boom of a crane to snap, sending its cable flying unpredictably, as reported by Mysteries Of Canada.

The cable struck Dave’s knees, propelling him 46 feet into the air and crashing him through the crane’s cab window.

His hard hat pressed against his carotid artery due to the impact with the window frame, leading to a stroke that left him in a coma.

Reflecting on his experience, Dave remarked, “[The doctors] told mom and dad that I was going to be a vegetable and never get out of bed again-they forgot to tell me!”
