ABC televised the live wedding of Golden Bachelor stars Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist. And the happy couple walked down the aisle as their family, friends and other Bachelor Nation stars supported them in the first-ever live Golden Wedding special per Us.

Aired on Thursday, January 4, the show featured the stars from the first season of the Golden Bachelor. And ABC struck gold in casting Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 70, whose connection became more apparent after the Golden Bachelor debuted in September 2023.

As a result, Turner proposed amid the show’s December 2023 finale. And the Golden Bachelor star called that proposal “a natural progression of the season. We came out of that knowing each other so well,” he gushed before his wedding. 

And the show provided them with the chance to learn “so much more about each other with every passing day,” he added. Because of that, the opportunity to propose “just seemed like the right thing to do,” said Gerry. And he called it “the natural thing to do.”

Golden Wedding Spoilers – Who Made The Guest List?

But Theresa teased who might appear on her wedding guest list prior to the ceremony. And she shared her pride in knowing that the Golden Bachelor “impacted so many people” with its love story. As a result, Nist felt that televising the wedding to share with the world felt essential. 

But she admitted the challenge in choosing a guest list. And as for her former Golden Bachelor co-stars, Theresa shared that if she could choose, “we would invite everyone. We seriously love every single one of these women.”

But as Gerry and Theresa stood at the altar, only family members stood with them. And Turner chose his son-in-law, Rob, for his best man. But his groomsmen included Theresa’s grandsons: Dempsey, Leo, Brandon, Brody and Braxton. Theresa’s son-in-law, Matt, who is married to her daughter, Jen, also stood by Gerry’s side.

And Theresa’s group included her daughter, Jen, as her maid of honor. Gerry’s daughters, Angie and Jenny, took on the roles as bridesmaids. And Theresa’s daughter-in-law, Amanda, and Gerry’s granddaughters Payton and Charlee joined the group.

However, Golden Bachelor fan fave Susan Noles officiated the wedding. And season one alums Ellen Goltzer, Natascha Hardee, April Kirkwood, Faith Martin, Anna Zalk, Edith Aguirre, Patty James, Sandra Mason, Joan Vassos, Kathy Swarts and Nancy Hulkower attended as well.

But Bachelor Nation stars also attended the Golden Wedding. For instance, Trista and Ryan Sutter, Jason and Molly Mesnick, Desiree and Chris Siegfried, and Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk supported the newlyweds.

And Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin, and Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko also cheered.

Because she accused Turner of blindsiding her amid their emotional breakup, Leslie sparked suspense about whether she would go to the wedding. But on her Instagram, she gushed, “I can’t wait to support Gerry and Theresa in their beautiful day. And I know it’s going to be really, really amazing.”
