Gerry was looking for love at 72 years old and shared the story of his wife dying very unexpectedly. His daughters convinced him to date again.

Gerry dated 22 different women on the show and the finale came down to Theresa Nist and Leslie Fhima.

The Golden Bachelor – Fans Speak Out

Gerry chose Theresa and ended up sending Leslie packing. ABC is already developing a wedding special for their special day. When Gerry was in the middle of making up his mind about the women, Leslie kept asking him what was on his mind.

He told her that there wasn’t really anything that he wanted to talk to her about though. Leslie felt completely blindsided when he told her that he had made a choice and it wasn’t her.

Fans of the show felt that Gerry began the show and he was very wholesome. After he broke up with Leslie the way that he did, they were very upset with him. Twitter was filled with hateful comments about him and the way that he treated Leslie.

One tweet read, “Gerry’s just like a teenage boy sending mixed signals and unexpecedtly changing his mind in the blink of an eye.” Another added, “I didn’t think men would still be immature trash in their 70s.”

Fans of the show were very let down by what they saw and it is clear that Gerry didn’t make any fans this way. Gerry is happy and that does seem to be the only thing that is on his mind currently.
