The Drew Carey Show Goes Into Syndication

This is good news for Drew Carey fans. The Drew Carey Show may be syndicated soon. Drew talked about his long-spanning career, which includes his previous sitcom.

Unlike other popular sitcoms like Friends, Seinfeld, Two and a Half Men, and Everybody Loves Raymond, The Drew Carey Show was never in syndication.

The Drew Carey Show ran from 1995 to 2004. On the series, Drew portrayed a fictional version of himself. The series also starred Craig Ferguson, Christa Miller, Diedrich Bader, Kathy Kinney, and Ryan Stiles.

Most of these people already had successful comedy careers. But the show elevated them even more, including Drew Carey himself.

The series is currently available to purchase. But Drew admitted that it never ran in syndication because of “music rights and stuff.” Episodes are available to watch on Amazon Prime and Apple TV +.

“We’re going to try to change that around and get it back out there,” Drew Carey said in his interview with TV Insider.

He believes the show would still be popular to this day. He recalls that much of the subject matter was “timeless” and “pretty funny.”

The Price Is Right Host Talks Career Legacy

Drew Carey also talked about his career legacy. He doesn’t think The Drew Carey Show or The Price is Right defines his career. He believes he became popular for his hosting stint on Whose Line Is It Anyway?

The improv sketch comedy show was a hit with millennials. Drew was joined by his good friends and fellow comedians Ryan Stiles and Wayne Brady.

Even though he was a host, he would join them in some of the sketches. They had celebrity guests.

“I always told Ryan that Whose Line was going to be our legacy show. That was the funniest show on TV ever,” Drew shared. “We have iconic moments like Richards Simmons on the show.”

Drew Carey is still friends with most of the cast. He mentioned that he and Wayne Brady both became game show hosts. Wayne is the host of Let’s Make a Deal.
