The Voice Spoilers – Coaches Play Musical Chairs
Ever since its debut in 2011, The Voice has depended on its coaches to make or break the singing competition. And with season 24 ended, fans have speculated about who will fill the red chairs for season 25. Spoilers via She Knows reveal two fan favorite coaches will exit.
But musical chairs for The Voice has become part of the game. The show depends on its celebrity coaches to mentor the aspiring singers and serve as critics. Gradually, the teams get smaller until the winner remains.
When The Voice debuted, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Christina Aguilera filled those red chairs. And the show has seen celebrities including Kelly Clarkson, Shakira, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, and Nick Jonas try out their coaching skills.
However, original coach Blake shocked when he left after season 23. But Shelton confessed, “To be totally honest about it, I wasn’t even planning on being there that long. I was planning on wrapping it up around 20 seasons or 21 seasons,” he admitted.
But then came COVID. “And then obviously COVID hit,” Shelton recalled. “And then I didn’t want to walk out on the show in the middle of COVID and them trying to scramble and figure out what to do, so I stayed.”

And instead, season 25 will see country music duo Dan + Shay teaming up to become the first group to take on a coach role. In addition, Reba McEntire, John Legend, and Chance will coach contestants next season.

“We’ve gotten to shoot a little bit of it. It’s two chairs,” explained Dan. “But one button, and they’re actually connected. It’s kind of one big platform. It’s definitely a spectacle. We’ve worked with them a lot. You know, we were mentors for Blake [Shelton].”
And Dan feels excited about teaching aspiring singers to become “better people and better artists. We’ve made a lot of mistakes in our life,” he admitted. “And have a lot of wisdom to share through those mistakes that we’re gonna be able to share with those artists. and everybody on that team is just so incredible.”
But he also praised Reba as “an absolute legend and it’s awesome that they have two country acts on there. It’ll be next year before we actually get to get to see that all come together and get to do all the live stuff.”
