Todd Chrisley’s lawyer is opening up about his anxiety struggles. He’s not having it easy in prison just seven months in. Todd feels like someone is watching him.
He already alleged that someone took his picture without his consent.
Todd Chrisley’s Anxiety Struggles
The Chrisley Knows Best star is dealing with anxiety. He’s reportedly having issues with privacy in prison.
His lawyer Jay Surgent spoke to The Los Angeles Times about the former reality star. Todd is at a Pensacola prison where he’s serving his 12-year prison sentence for bank wire fraud and tax evasion.
“He’s still very energetic, but I think he’s suffering from anxiety in not knowing what’s happening on the outside with his case,” Surgent told The Los Angeles Times.
Both Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley were convicted on both bank fraud and tax evasion charges in June 2022.
Earlier this year, Todd reported to Florida’s Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola where he is serving his 12-year prison sentence.
Julie started her seven-year sentence at Kentucky’s Federal Medical Center in Lexington. The two have appealed their sentences and convictions, but the process is taking longer than they anticipated.
On top of that, Todd dealt with an issue behind bars. One of his fellow prison mates took a picture of him asleep without his consent.
Todd has applied for home confinement because of security and privacy issues. Sargent stays Todd is “suffering from anxiety” as a result of this situation.
“I think [Todd is] frustrated with the legal system in general, as far as how long it takes to get anything processed — from getting mail to being able to make phone calls to having his case processed on appeal,” Sargent explained to The Los Angeles Times. “Everything is delay, delay, delay and it’s very frustrating to him.”
Chrisley Knows Best – Star Worries About Privacy
Now, Todd Chrisley has to worry about his privacy being compromised. Several others in prison allegedly took pictures of him.
Todd also claims that the paparazzi have been camped outside the prison. He’s afraid that pictures of him sans bleached blonde hair and Botox will circulate on social media.
Todd mostly keeps to himself. Sargent explains that he has a “neutralized existence,” which includes eating his meals, communicating with the other inmates, and watching television.
