Todd Chrisley might have felt annoyed at the news that some of his family will star in a new reality TV show amid his own prison sentence. But instead, the Chrisley Knows Best alum feels delighted. However, his reaction sparked outrage for several reasons.
Find out how Todd reacted to his family’s new reality show. And learn how his followers reacted. Get all the details below.
Todd Chrisley Cheers Family For Starting New Reality Show
As the Chrisley Knows Best alum sits in prison, his kids have focused on creating a new reality TV show. And Todd looks forward to it. Jay Surgent, Todd’s attorney, told TMZ that the Chrisley patriarch feels “thrilled and happy” about the planned series.
However, Todd wants to shape the reality TV show even while he remains locked up in prison. And he shared his hope that it will feature the challenges of his family since he and his wife Julie Chrisley began their combined 19-year prison sentence.
That seems to translate as Todd wanting his kids to appear devastated rather than happy at living life without the Chrisley matriarch and patriarch.
As for who will appear in the show? Todd’s and Julie’s kids Chase, Savannah, Grayson, and adopted daughter Chloe will star.
And Todd’s mom, Nanny Faye will appear as well. But Chrisley Knows Best fans questioned the premise of the show and Todd’s reaction.
Chrisley Followers Respond To New Show
Reddit‘s community of Chrisley followers found various ways to throw shade. For instance, one wrote, “Of course Todd feels thrilled. The grift continues.”
And another shared, “LOL! This is so funny! Savannah and fam had already filmed a sizzle reel to be shopped around to various networks/streaming services in hopes of being picked up. Evidently, the show didn’t get picked up! Now, the family is trying a second time to produce smthg with South Productions in hopes of being picked up somewhere! They are persistent, to say the least!”
However, some pointed out that the kids do need that money. But a skeptic commented, “They would sell their soul to the devil for [money] . Oh wait, they already did that. They will CONTINUE to sell their souls to the devil for a [dollar]. It’s the grifters swindling way….”
And while the show currently remains untitled, one follower suggested, “Chrisleys in Jail. I pay to watch that.” But others plan to boycott. And some felt frustrated with how Todd claimed he wanted to “depict the devastation his family has been facing since he and [his wife] Julie were sent to prison at the beginning of this year.”
As a follower noted, “They’re acting like someone did this TO them. Sir, it’s the consequences of your actions calling. He sounds narcissistic.”
