Poor Tom Sandoval. The Vanderpump Rules star told People that he didn’t get a vacation between starring on Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test and filming season 11. But Sandoval, 41, found other reasons to whine as well.
And Tom reflected on how life changed for him after “Scandoval.” That term went viral in summing up what happened when Sandoval cheated on his girlfriend of nine years Ariana Madix. Tom hid his affair with Ariana’s best friend Raquel Leviss for months.
As a result, Sandoval went from the so-called “number one guy in the group” to Vanderpump’s villain. And Tom admitted that he became accustomed to life as the most popular guy on Vanderpump Rules. But in the wake of Scandoval, he needed to adjust. And Sandoval pointed out, “I’ve never really been an outsider with everyone like I was.”

And Sandoval teased season 11, promising that upcoming episodes will “be, I think, interesting for people to see.” But he also called the experience “definitely one of my probably hardest seasons to film, ever.”
However, in the wake of the scandal, Sandoval has sought to take his time in mending rifts with the rest of the cast. And he explained, “I’m just taking my time. This coming season of Vanderpump Rules [will reveal] how a lot of that stuff sort of plays out.”
However, Sandoval has already faced down angry fans who sided with Ariana Madix at the Bravo fan convention known as BravoCon. And each time Tom tried to talk, a chorus of boos and hisses drowned out his comments.

But Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent credited Sandoval for staying. And she shared, “In a weird, weird way, I don’t know if it’s respect. But with everyone really hating on Tom, he still went out, performed shows.” And she noted that Sandoval remained “sitting in front of y’all getting booed.”
However, Lala’s co-star Scheana Shay revealed she struggled with Sandoval betraying her friend Ariana. “I have personally really struggled with all this,” she shared. “Because I’m like, ‘Yes, you did a really bad thing. But you weren’t a bad friend to me.”
However, Sandoval cheating did impact Shay. And she also noted that the affair “changed the entire dynamic of our group.”
But Sandoval complained about life after his “pretty juicy f—ing scandal. I had an affair,” he reflected. “And it just blew up. People were messaging me paragraphs of just like vicious, like, so visceral, like, hatred.” And Tom slammed fans for shifting from seeing him as “so cool” to a “creeper.”
“Before this whole scandal, I would meet people who had probably seen me on Vanderpump Rules,” recalled Sandoval. “And they’d be like, ‘Oh my gosh, he’s so cool’.” But now, “people think I’m a complete narcissist, creeper vibes.”
