Vanderpump Rules Replacing Entire Cast for Season 12

Bravo’s Emmy-nominated reality series ‘Vanderpump Rules’ is returning for its 12th season with a fresh perspective and an all-new cast.

The network announced on November 26 that the upcoming season will introduce a “new group of close-knit SUR-vers” working at Lisa Vanderpump’s iconic West Hollywood establishments, SUR and TomTom.

In a statement, Lisa Vanderpump reflected on the show’s legacy:

“The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears and everything in between. I can’t thank enough those who have shared their lives. How I love you all,” Lisa Vanderpump said in a statement. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of ‘Vanderpump Rules.’”

‘Vanderpump Rules’ – A New Chapter for ‘Vanderpump Rules’

Executive producer Alex Baskin shared his excitement about the series’ evolution, emphasizing the balance between honoring its origins and embracing a new narrative:

“With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of co-workers and friends make their way through life together.”

The revamped series will focus on a new ensemble of restaurant staff whose personal and professional lives promise to be just as intertwined and dramatic as their predecessors.

Production for Season 12 is set to begin next year, with the cast and premiere date to be announced later.

Vanderpump RulesThe Legacy Of ‘Vanderpump Rules’

Since its debut in January 2013 as a spinoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the series has followed the lives of servers, bartenders, and hosts navigating friendships, relationships, and workplace drama under Vanderpump’s management.

The original cast featured Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, Stassi Schroeder, Scheana Shay, and Katie Maloney.

Over the years, other notable names such as Ariana Madix, Tom Schwartz, James Kennedy, Raquel Leviss, Lala Kent, and Brittany Cartwright joined the mix.

The show reached its peak viewership during the “Scandoval” controversy, when news broke in March 2023 of Tom Sandoval’s affair with Raquel Leviss while he was in a decade-long relationship with Ariana Madix.

The fallout from this scandal dominated Seasons 10 and 11, delivering record-breaking ratings and securing the series’ first Emmy nomination.

Vanderpump Rules – Spinoffs And Appearances

‘Vanderpump Rules’ has also inspired spinoffs, including ‘The Valley’, which premiered earlier this year and featured alumni Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen Doute. Additionally, Lala Kent and Scheana Shay made guest appearances on the show.

While many former cast members have moved on, their impact on the series remains significant. Reflecting on the announcement, Lala Kent expressed gratitude for the experience in an Instagram post, writing, “We rocked this bitch until the wheels fell off.”

Katie Maloney echoed similar sentiments, describing her time on the show as a “mixed bag” but ultimately rewarding.

Vanderpump Rules Hiatus And Renewal

Rumors of the show’s cancellation emerged earlier this year when filming for Season 12 was delayed. However, Bravo clarified that the hiatus was intentional, allowing the cast and crew time to decompress after two intense seasons.

Lisa Vanderpump explained the decision, stating, “Let it breathe. I think we were going around in circles for a little bit.”

Andy Cohen, host of ‘Watch What Happens Live’, noted that production pauses are common for Bravo shows following major events. “We would say, ‘You know what? Let’s put cameras down for, you know, four or five months and come back to them.’ And they will have lived life. Things will be different,'” he explained on ‘Andy Cohen Live’.

As ‘Vanderpump Rules’ transitions into this new phase, fans can expect a fresh blend of workplace camaraderie, personal drama, and the signature chaos that has made the show a reality TV staple. Seasons 1 through 11 are currently available for streaming on Peacock, offering a chance to relive the journey before the next chapter unfolds.
