My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore seems to look very different on social media from what TLC fans see on the show. Does she use a lot of filters? She sometimes claims that she doesn’t, but at the same time, sometimes, she admits that she does. Read on to find out what fans think.
Whitney Way Thore & Weight Loss
TLC fans know that the premise of the show is about how it’s okay to be larger than average. If that’s the case, then naturally critics wonder why Hunter Thore’s sister would use a filter. Sometimes, Whitney acts out on social media. Remember when she went on a binge of sharing reels of herself eating? Why would she do that? it’s hardly inspirational stuff, after all.
Whitney Way Thore also sometimes goes on and on about hunting for a man. Then, she might post something about animals, or her family. But, interspersed with all of that, she often shares reels or photos of herself looking very different from how fans see her on the show.
MBFFL Star Shares Filtered Photo?
On Instagram this week, when Whitney shared a photo, a TLC fan grabbed a screenshot and posted it on Reddit. In it, she wore black. Her arm closest to the camera looked way too big for the rest of her body and her ultra-thin face.
My Big Fat Fabulous Life fan u/RphWrites felt that the person in the photo looked nothing like Whitney Way Thore. In their caption, they wrote:
Even taking angles into account, this only barely resembles the Whitney we see on TV
She’s been fussing on Instagram about how she doesn’t use PS or filters (while also admitting in the same post that she used a filter) but then posts something like this … Even with knowing your angles and good lighting, this barely looks like the Whitney on TV. And it’s more than just weight loss. She’s starting to veer into the Instagram vs Reality universe.
TLC Fans Discuss Filtering & The MBFFL Show
My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans discussed the issue of filtering and some of them seemed unhappy with the reality TV star. here are some of their reactions:
- Both her arms say her face 100% doesn’t look like that. If you’re whole schtick is being proud to be fat and that fat is fabulous and not a dirty word, why filter/facetune/edit so obviously and extreme?
- I’m aware weight loss shows up in the face first. Even so, it’s difficult to place this face with the arms. Nor does the face at all resemble WWT. I dunno. If this is at all “reality” I’m scared. Some tribe in NC is shrinking ppl’s skulls.
- That is a powerful filter, it got rid of shitney.
- …She warped herself into a whole new person.
