British Royal News: Meghan Markle Almost Joined The UK Version Of DWTS

British Royal News suggests that Meghan Markle almost became a dancing star. In fact, there’s a new book that suggests the former Hollywood actress turned down an opportunity to appear on Strictly Come Dancing, which is the British version of Dancing With The Stars. That’s because she was tied up with other things, instead. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Tom Bower’s new book, Revenge, he says that Meghan was close to trying out for Strictly Come Dancing but she didn’t make it. Apparently, Meghan had visited the UK back in November of 2013 in the hopes that she could line up work in London and snag a British boyfriend while she was there, too.

What’s more, the future Duchess of Sussex also met with television agent Jonathan Shalit during her visit and made it clear that she wanted to be a celebrity chef just like Goron Ramsay, but perhaps without all of the yelling.

Bowers puts it this way, “Shalit was excited. She was charming, good-looking and admired by the small audience for Suits.”

But unfortunately, Meghan didn’t have enough skills in the kitchen to make it happen because the only things that she knew how to cook were “veg soup made in a blender, pasta, roast chicken, burgers and steak.”

And while Meghan’s cooking show failed to see the light of day, she still persisted in the hopes of finding work in the UK. Bower wrote, “The program idea evaporated. Undeterred, Shalit arranged an audition for Strictly Come Dancing. Reluctantly she declined. Tied to a Suits contract for nine months in the year, the timing clashed with filming in Britain.”

So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the claims but there’s always a chance that she might still join Dancing With The Stars for the upcoming season, right? That, or she could always show the royals how to make a mean avocado toast if she goes back to Windsor.
