Camilla Parker Bowles recently opened up about one of the biggest fears she has in her life. During a royal engagement to kick off day one of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall’s annual tour of Devon and Cornwall, the couple celebrated the opening of a new footbridge at Tintagel Castle and even tested it out for themselves. That’s where Camilla made it no secret that she is scared of heights.
Camilla Parker Bowles Opens Up About Her Biggest Fear
While the Duchess was certainly brave enough to go out and walk along the new footbridge, she couldn’t hide her fear. As the royal couple walked along, Camilla reportedly told Prince Charles: “I’m not looking down, I’m looking above.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Camilla Parker Bowles has mentioned that she has an immense fear of heights. In fact, it’s been previously reported that the Duchess of Cornwall often doesn’t want to go on state trips abroad because she doesn’t like to fly. Of course, that hasn’t stopped Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles from traveling all throughout the Commonwealth, but it certainly hasn’t made things easy on the Duchess.
No Traveling For Prince Charles And Camilla Parker Bowles
With that said though, it might be a very long time before Camilla will be traveling again or on a plane for that matter. Even though both she and Prince Charles have been out and about again for their royal engagements and public appearances now that the UK has eased some of their lockdown restrictions, they have been keeping close to home. In fact, there’s a very good chance that the only two members of the British Royal Family who will be traveling in the future – when it is safe to do so – will be Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall will most likely limit their royal work in the UK, just like Queen Elizabeth.
