Royal News – Kate Is Absent Due To An Abdominal Surgery.

He reportedly planned to attend the memorial for King Constantine of Greece on February 27 but was nowhere to be seen.

The only thing the palace would say is that a “personal matter” is the reason he missed the event.

There is a ton of speculation going on about Catherine, Princess of Wales’ health given the fact that the palace has said virtually nothing about her, she hasn’t been seen since December, and she will not be seen until Easter at the latest.

Concern Mounts Over Kate Middleton's Absence, One Surgeon’s Opinion on What’s Really Going On

Is Kate really ok? Here is what surgeon Dr. George Crawford said about this puzzling situation.

Royal News – Is Kate OK?

Crawford told Nicki Swift that Kate’s absence depends on what type of surgery she had. In a statement released by Kensington Palace on January 17, Kate underwent a planned abdominal surgery.

According to Crawford, the Princess of Wales had either open surgery or laparoscopic surgery, with the recovery times being vastly different.

Royal Family News – Kate’s Surgery

He told the outlet “Open surgery is when you make a big incision on the belly and do an operation. That can require up to two months for a patient to recover.”

He added that with this type of operation, the abdomen is opened up, which means the muscles in the abdomen require a longer healing time even though the patient is allowed to move after about a week.

He added “For the abdominal muscles to heal it can take anywhere from six weeks to eight weeks to be at about 75% strength.” This timeline fits along with Kate’s expected return to royal duties after March 31.

Royal Family News – Did Kate Have A Laparoscopic Procedure?

Crawford then described laparoscopic surgery as a procedure carried out via small incisions. He said “Those patients typically have a recovery time of about three weeks” and are able to move after a day or two.

The laparoscopic technique usually involves placing a tiny camera into the abdomen that aids the surgeon during the operation.
