Did Camilla Parker Bowles Really Pave The Way For Meghan Markle?

Camilla Parker Bowles - Meghan MarkleCamilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has found herself an outsider. One royal commentator said that Camilla paved the way for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, to get married. She was the first one to move the royal family into a modernized version.

Life was easier when Meghan and Harry married in 2016. They didn’t worry about Meghan being a divorcee. That all changed when the couple got married in 2018. In the past, marrying a divorced person or getting a divorce was not accepted by the royal family.

In a documentary titled Charles & Camilla: King and Queen in Waiting, Carole Malone, TV broadcaster and journalist, revealed why she feels that Camila paved the way for Harry and Meghan’s relationship to blossom.

“In many ways, Camilla had paved the way for Meghan,” she shared, as quoted by Express. “In the sense that they were both divorcees and neither of them was royals.”

Meghan was considered a commoner who worked as an actress on Suits when she first met Harry. Back in 2011, she married her longtime boyfriend, Trevor Engelson, and their marriage ended two years later.

Harry had to ask his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, for permission to marry Meghan. He was probably worried about the process. But he wasn’t as worried as his father, Prince Charles, married Camilla, a divorcee, a little more than a decade earlier. Camilla wasn’t well-received by the royal family.

She wasn’t even considered the right match for Prince Charles. When the two met in the early 1970s, there was apparent chemistry. They ended their relationship before the royal family told Prince Charles that their relationship couldn’t go anywhere. Camilla was considered the outcast of the British monarchy.

Even though their relationship ended, and Charles knew that marrying Camilla wasn’t an option, they remained close friends. They were even at several public events together in the 1970s. After Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles and Charles married Princess Diana, the two became close and had an affair.

They worked on slowly introducing their relationship to the public in 1997, but then Diana died, and they had to keep their romance a secret. They finally made their relationship public and in 2005 the Queen gave them permission to marry.

Could care less really. Harry is pussy whipped and does whatever Meghan wants. I’m sure that sooner or later they will divorce – probably sooner. It will hit him eventually that what he’s given up wasn’t really worth it. He needs to grow a spine.
