Apparently, the details of their meeting are still being ironed out, but it’s one that many people are looking forward to on both sides of the Atlantic. It’s also an encounter that can reignite a lot of negative feelings among Donald Trump’s British critics, who have long opposed his decision to visit the United Kingdom.
“Yes, yes, I mean, he has to see the head of state,” Ambassador Robert Wood Johnson has revealed to Sky News. “Putting his foot on British soil, it’s Job 1, it’s very important, very symbolic. Meeting Her Majesty is the most important thing, because she’s the head of state, and from then on, it’ll be what the president wants to do.”

Donald Trump once described his mother, a native of Scotland, “a big fan” of the Queen and said that he is excited to meet her. Unfortunately, a lot of people in London do not share the same sentiment. The President of the United States remains to be one of the more deeply unpopular leaders all across Europe right now.
British lawyer and political commentator, Peter Stefanovic, put it this way on Twitter, “In the last 3 days President Trump has backed the caging of children, talked of migrants ‘infesting’ the country, withdrawn from the UN Human Rights Council, made repeated lies about crime in Germany and we are honoring him with a visit to Windsor Castle to meet the Queen.”

The upcoming meeting between Queen Elizabeth and Donald Trump should be very interesting. I’m sure there will be a ton of media coverage about it!
Hadn’t heard about the meeting, but I’ll bet it will dominate the news. Wonder what will come of it!?

Haven’t heard about it, I really try to not watch, or listen to the news anymore. It’s usually full of such negative stuff it’s hard to watch. I wonder how the meeting will go

That is certainly bound to be an interesting (if not probably a little uncomfortable) meeting. Hopefully it goes over without too many bumps or awkwardness along the way.
This is very interesting. I really love Queen Elizabeth. I don’t follow along with politics, but I do enjoy hearing about the Royal Family.

I think this is just a routine activity with every head of state. Meeting with other leaders will decrease the animosity and hopefully bring forth more economic collaboration.
Honestly, I’m not interested in anything that has to do with Donald Trump. My mother has always followed the Royal Family so I will let her know about this meeting.
What an interesting meet that will be. I can’t see the queen standing for any messing either she seems like a right hard nut.
We all know that whoever gets to meet the Queen will be able to feel royal comfort and respect. It’s up to the other end if they’ll understand why it’s like that!
